Terat crept up slowly, then stopped and listened. Then he crept up again, then stopped and listened. He then repeated the process, until he was on the top of the wall, and even then he just stuck his snout through the parapets and sniffed. He then looked over, and then put his head down. This is it he thought this is the place I have seen in my dream. fieldsofwar.blogspot.com/2012/08/legends-of-war-terat-felmerat-dream-rat.html

It depends on the Genre. If it's Sci-fi, Modern, or Steampunk I could probably help.

The game is a fantasy game, however, some of it's elements are closer to steampunk or sci-fi (Tolls, Scarecrows, and Garmaria for example). If you want to make an army list for the Scarecrows, that would be appreciated, and, you may even win that army. Also we have a map of the Convict Islands for those who are interested. fieldsofwar.blogspot.com/2012/09/art-of-war-map-of-convict-islands.html

"New skirmish game" tends to grab my attention Gave a quick read, love the style but was a little confused by the layout. There seems to be room for a lot of unit customization between stats, equipment and special rules. I also liked the campaign framework, it seems very inviting since I play mostly solo. In this first read, I could not find information about turn structure. I am assuming it is standard IGO-UGO with leaders issuing commands first and then other units that have not activated yet. I have not read the main Fields of War rule book so I do not know if this information is present there. Good work and thanks for sharing.

The turn structure in Border War is, as you say, I go-You Go with the "Go" being the total number of command points. If it wouldn't mess up the style of the rulebook, I would change around the way things were organized. I hope you get a chance to play Border War.

Hi jaggedjaw
I ran a quick solo battle using Border War rules. I liked them -- the game moves fast given that most figures can do a single thing per turn and action resolution is simple. I have a few questions:
1) Facing: I am assuming figures have 180 degrees "front" facing but I am not sure as some skirmish games use no facing too.
2) When a figure successfully charges another, do I immediately run a round of melee combat? I played this way but I was not sure as that would normally be two actions (move + attack).
3) Recovery tests: are they taken immediately or at the end of the turn? I made the tests immediately to avoid bookkeeping but I am not sure.
4) Can a figure leave melee combat?
Thanks in advance...

Models do not have facings, however, that should probably be addressed. 2. you immediately run a round of combat. 3. they are taken immediately for the model in question. 4. If they fail a Courage check they can run away. Otherwise, no. finally, would it be possible for you to share your battle report?

Thanks for the answers! I am in the process of finishing the battle report, it should be posted on my blog tomorrow.

Here goes: Scarecrow Army List Leader: Scillius (skill-ee-us): A larger heavier-built scarecrow. Looks more war-torn than the rest. Generals: Scals (skal-s) and Sceels (skeel-s) mean, skull-faced creatures. Not to be messed with. Killers (spies and assassins): No names. Small, wiry. Carrying knives and bows. Soldiers (the backbone of the army): No names. Slightly larger than Killers. Carry anything they can find as a weapon! So, what do you think? I created them randomly, with no idea of what you wanted, but, hey, it was kind of fun!

What kind of stats would you think they'd have?

Hmmmmm. You'd have to give me some basic stats to customize. I don't know how the game works yet. Sorry!
