In case anyone tries to google the Frott Laffley that VK mentions, you have better luck with "landship." It is cool Actually "Landfort" on a google image search pulls up this interesting piece; www.2dayblog.com/2010/04/15/no-man%E2%80%99s-land-fort/Looks an adventure module just primed and waiting for an author and artist.

I wonder if you can have one of those in Dave Graffam's game ...
Did you happen to go to the home page for where the image was found? That thing just screams out that it is perfect for gaming.

There use to be a show in the UK called "Fort Boyard" which was hosted by Melinda Messenger, she had huge personalities. erm I digress... anyway it was this action gameshow set on a fort off the coast of south east england i think... I visited it years ago and it was totally freaking aswome... actually fits in nicely with the steampunk theme.

It's on the west coast of France, according to the wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Boyard_%28fortification%29They made the show in 29 other countries as well - i have seen some episodes of the Danish version. /Cobra

When the signal comes the engines will roar to life, their rusted feet will pull free of the muddy sea bottom, and they will advance on the grand empire.
Forts my heinie, those are powered down steam-walkers! ;D

I would have to agree. As the hydraulics settle when powered down, the joints sink down into the armored sleeves so that they are protected until needed again.
