Bios - Who are you guys?
Mike McVey
Mike has been in the miniatures industry for over 25 years, and is a veteran of Games Workshop and a former partner at Privateer Press. Starting out at Games Workshop, Mike's career includes contributions to Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000, Privateer Press' Warmachine and Hordes, Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars and Warcraft. Studio McVey is the brainchild of Mike and his wife Alison (Ali).
I have always liked new Studio McVey's miniatures but unfortunately I never had the opportunity to buy some. Especially one that I prefer ( because immediately sold out ): Lt. kara Black ( ok, imho she reminds a bit "battlestar galactica" )
Now Kara returns in "Battle for Alabaster"
Not one, but two versions.
Sedition Wars: Battle for Alabaster
Sedition Wars : Battle for Alabaster is a fast paced tactical miniatures game for two players, developed by Studio McVey and published by CoolMiniOrNot.
Survival horror at its finest, game play is fast and bloody – creating urgency and claustrophobic terror, as the Vanguard fight for their very lives against an unrelenting nightmare.
Battle for Alabaster is the first part in the Sedition Wars game experience. Future expansions will introduce exciting new factions, evocative settings and expand on the compelling storyline that guides the action. Once players have fought for control of Alabaster, they will want to continue the adventure in future episodes.
From the mind of industry legend Mike McVey, and created by the finest artists, miniatures sculptors and game designers, the contents and play materials of the game are of the highest quality.. Sedition Wars : Battle for Alabaster represents the best that miniatures gaming has to offer!
The game contains –
50 highly detailed 28mm miniatures 50 Scenic miniature bases 5 double sided full colour expandable game boards 60 page rules and scenario book Vanguard and Strain stat cards 100+ full colour game counters
Check out the detail of these great models!
[
b]Important[/b]: figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Made in plastic.
Vanguard miniatures
Kara Morgan Akosha Drone Tank (50mm base) Male Samaritan with Laser Rifles x 12 Female Grenadier x 2 Male Reaver Heavy x 2 Female Lancer special x 2
Strain miniatures
Phase 1 - 1 Big arm x 7 Phase 1 - 2 Claw hand x 7 Phase 2 - 1 Stalker x 4 Phase 2 - 2 Quasimodo x 4 Phase 3 - 1 Scythe Witch x 2 Phase 3 - 1 Brimstone (50 mm base) x 2 Phase 4 Grendlr (50mm base) Phase 5 Cthonian (50mm base)
In my opinion the more interesting pledge is "Pledge $100 or more " ( 125 U.S. $ for me ). "Biohazard".
A copy of the boxed game, a print signed by Mike McVey, a special edition Kara in resin and a sexy Vanguard patch plus every stretch goals.
Now two ( but I know there will be many other )
1- "every game will be upgraded with alternate sculpts of the troopers with alt female poses (with and without helmets on). This should give more variety to the poor hapless grunts that are about to be turned into nano-virus feed...."
2- Each Biohazard level and above pledge gets an additional squad of 12 vanguard troopers thrown in for free! Time to contain that infection!
Note, actual mix of troopers may vary from the shot below, but you'll get 12 with a lot of variety!
( NB: This is for 60,000 $ and now it is about 58,000 but there are still 33 days ... and zombicide ended at $781,597 )

The Laser with Battery Backpack plus Sword makes me think of Traveller Imperial Marines.
Nice figures, but I would never be capable of painting them to a shadow of how they are presented in the box, that's why I choose to work on paper minis afterall.

I completely understand your argument, Parduz. And I don't like to continue it, sorry ( my wife was fired three years ago because a known supermarkets' has closed his store in my town and now, at age 44, she is not working certainly ... ). We, you and me, know well current italian economic situation.
End OT.
But if one person like boardgames and can, also buy, a few, or just one, on one year ... all ( italian ) "big" boardgames with miniatures cost 80 euros ( starcraft, descend, wow, the new "runewars", battles of westeros ... ), about 101 U.S. $ ...
So, imho, a 100 $ pledge is not "rich", is right ( if one can ).
Earth Reborn minis are by Zibobiz International Ltd ( ex Rackham sculptor )
"Sedition Wars: Battle for Alabaster" Next stretch goal ( 80,000 $ ):
The Infection markers in all games will be upgraded from paper to plastic. If we hit this goal, we'll open a tool for these nifty tokens and improve Alabaster immensely for everyone!
This is a great, super clear design to show which of the Vanguard are suffering the early stages of nano-infection! We're sure you'll agree, much snazzier than putting a paper chit on the base.
Also upgraded will be the Nano counter, which doubles as an objective marker.

I don't think this is THAT far off-topic. I think it would serve as a reference for many paper modelers here. Afterall, Glenn is working on some figures that is right up this alley!
