My submission is my build for Cutpurse Alley, in the Beggars Quarter of Punjar, known as "Smoke". This diorama contains materials from just about every papercraft designer on RPGNow. It is intended as a 100% playable environment, based strictly on The Sellswords of Punjar, from Goodman Games. In fact, I'll be submitting play photos from this build when in a few weeks. This is the map I built to (not submitted as part my diorama, only linked for reference): My submission: The view into Cutpurse Alley over the locked gate: The "Slate Road" over the rooftops is an alternative way in, but has it's own hazards! Under the rooftops, every nook, loft, and room has it's own story (encounter)... Though the submission judging is limited to 3 photos, those who are interested in seeing a more shots can see them here: photobucket.com/diorama2012

I was impatiently waiting for your submission, with suspicion that it might be something spectacular... but this... simply WOW!!!

Very nice... but I didn't think that "plastics" were allowed. Regardless, with all of the "Imperfect" folks and other people, you would do just as well to remove the "plasitcs" replace them with more paper figures... in my opinion! (For what it's worth).

Ooh. Am I breaking the rules with a few plastic figures? I was just using what my game would have in it - mostly paper figures, but a few 3D ones for marquee foes/heroes.
I was confused because the someone asked a similar question about non-100%-paper settings for the figure submissions and got a "some plastic is OK" kind of answer.
If that's against the rules, I'll change them and resubmit, but please let me know now before I'm supposed to return my dining room to the family in about 4 hours for lunch. Perhaps it's time for a lunch out! :-)

Well, I am NOT sure if that is the case, I just was saying... As for the layout and everything... AMAZING! Top notch! I was just saying that in the case of THIS set-up, the figures were more of a distraction than a "bonus." Please understand I am NOT an official or anything, I just happened to make a comment. I can't speak for anyone else here, but there is NO reason to think that you would have to change your submission. It was just ONE guy asking a question/making a statement. I DID tell you that the quality of the pictures is fantastic, the work is great and a SUPERB job at laying it out and putting it all together. So, please don't think I was saying ANYTHING other than just a quick statement about the figures. Bottom line: IT LOOKS REALLY GREAT!

@ KiladecusThere is an old saying: talking is silver but silence is gold :-) That's alright, I already know that Kiladecus is CritiKiladecus. :-) It's cool, K. Thanks everyone for the support/praise. I can't wait to see the other submissions. I manged to keep my table set up and am making paper replacements but don't feel it would be right to update my submission unless requested by the judges.

I think I speak for the majority on this board when I say "Can we come and play at your house, Oldschool....?"

@ Mesper: I never seem to learn this lesson! @ OldSchoolDM: I really DO like this submission. I LOVE how you planned the whole thing out, and had a "map" of it. A lot of time, effort and thought went into this. I appreciate all of the work that you put into this submissions (not ONLY the hours to make the buildings, and figures, and if I know you, they are all fold-flat on top of everything else). It looks GREAT! @ Grendels_Mother64: I am with you! I would LOVE to battle in this city! Very fun to think about.

I've got to store my model for awhile, so I went ahead and made paper replacements for all the plastic figures in the shot and took alternate pictures. They are clearly marked in photobucket.com/diorama2012 but not copied or shown here. I don't feel that it would be fair to simply replace the submission after receiving comments from y'all - I only took the alternate shots for the case that the judges would otherwise disqualify my original entry (and if they would the accept the replacement shots.) I'm completely happy to let my original entry stand under all circumstances (even if disqualified and no replacement is allowed.) I built this because I wanted to play with it. :-) The buildings are "store-flat", but not through any work on my part, they are made with WWG's Terraclips carboard tiles (The Buildings and Streets of Malifaux, to be precise.) I did modify them, of course - printing stickers to cover the roof and street connectors. I am always looking for players for my -next- game (this one is full, sorry!). If you live in the SF/SJ Bay Area of California, drop me a PM!
