Hey all. I have started work on set Survival Horror Set 2, provisionally titled Blood, Bikers and Brains. The idea for this is that our heroes have stopped at Big Al's Bikes n' Booze, a local biker hangout, and have gotten a little more than they bargained for... First up is Biker Hero 1: Still need a name for this chap-not sure whether to go with a proper name (thinking Kris for some reason) or look at a biker nickname! Zombie Biker 1: Zombie Biker 2: These guys are the first two protagonists for the set-not all the zombies will be chain wielding either! I figured it would be cool if they were all from the same bike club, so here are the club colours: Again, still working on the name... At the moment the set will include 2 bikers (clean, bloody and zombie), 3 Zombie bikers, 1 Zombie Biker Chick (any of you guys remember Hot Topic Zombie..?) and Big Al, the 'boss' of this set. I will keep the thread updated with my progress! Cheers!

Hey abaddon!
I think that Kurt may well have the edge over Kris-cheers!

Thanks darkmook, a very good job.
I have bought your first set and I'm very satisfied, happy, from your modern horror survival minis.
have you a program for the next few zombies' sets ( swat, police, military, unarmed civians, special characters, bio-chem squads ... like copplestone minatures, westwind minis or RE themed )?
After zombies figures you think ofopen your range to other modern horror horror themes ( like modern vampires/werewolves wars, agents with supernatural abilities ... )?
Ciao
PS: excuse my for my bad english

Looking good. I especially like the protagonist. About time a chainsaw wielder showed up. How else was he going to open that beer? ;D

Could call the gang "The Living Dead". ;D Funny, I've been watching Sons of Anarchy again... To avoid copyright issues, could always go with Harvey and Davison!

Hey all-thanks for the name suggestions! And glad you like the first set Rhannon! I have a very loose production schedule at the moment-in no final order: School's Out-high school zombies with 'slasher' boss Prison Break-prisoner zombies with female special ops Live at 5-camera crew with army, cop and paramedic zombies, with Bioweapon 2Masters of the Occult-Hell on Earth-3 magic users with artifacts and casting, 4 lesser demons (a la Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill etc) and 1 'boss' demon I am also working on a set of vampires (hey there abaddon ), and have a few ideas for a slasher family, more occult investigators (maybe some kind of 'weird happening' department) and further occult adversaries. May take a while to get around to these guys though, as I have plenty of zombies on the horizon!

Great looking figures! Your style always impresses me. Very cool!
How about "Stygian Stompers" for the gang name? (Stygian meaning of or related to the River Styx)
What is sticking out of Zombie Biker 1's abdomen?

For some suggestions about "themed" classical zombies you can see www.cold-war.co.uk/, www.studiominiatures.com/page3.html. Or the rage virus zombies ( like "28 days later" ) from www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=106_107ciao

Hey all! Thanks for all the ideas-they are now safely filed for future reference! Loving some of those miniatures-given me a few ideas, and nice to see that great minds think alike for some of them. And the Junkyard Dogs idea is now shambling it's way to my to-do list!
Regarding Zombie Biker 1 WaffleM-I'm afraid that they are some putrid innards that have just burst from his distended flesh! If you look closely you can see his little belly button!

LOL! As long as I get the artwork done for her roller derby team and finish customising her Vans she's pretty cool with it! She's already been hassling me to do her team as a set! ;D

Back to Blood, Bikers and Brains: Biker Hero 2: Zombie Biker 3 (Old Pop): Zombie Biker 4: Biker Chick Zombie 1: Biker Chick Zombie 2: Still kicking around the ideas for Big Al, and have started the colouring. Not sure all the biker's will make it to this set, but if not they will pop up at some point in the future! Cheers!

Very cool!
You know you can always take your wife out for a nice dinner with the money made from selling the figure sets, that should sway her toward letting you draw more, if not already. JIM

Adam,
Does her team have a web site? Would be cool to have a survivor team or Roller Derby chicks.

Hey abaddon! Check out www.leedsrollerdolls.co.uk/ to see the team! I am planning on 5 or 6 roller girls and maybe a ref or two (possibly with the bloody and zombie variants too!) but this will be alongside the sets I'm working on, so may take a wee while!

Hi all! Quick update on progress with Set 2! I have now finished the base colours for the majority of the set, and have finished the standard version of the first biker hero, Kurt: I am quite pleased with the chainsaw and unlit Molotov cocktail. More updates to come as the figs are finished!

Your style just gets better and better! I like the anime style coloring and shading. This should be a popular set when released. JIM

I'll have to second that vote for the shading style... I really like it too. I imagine it works especially well at what I call "gaming distance". I also like how you mixed it with a slight gradient fill... at least that's what it looks like to my untrained eye...(grin)

Thanks fellas-glad you like the colouring. I am trying to refine the different techniques I use, but there is always room for improvement! (and well spotted dagger-it is indeed a gradient fill, along with some opacity changes). Rather speedier than my usual form, biker number 2, Tom: I like how he turned out, and think he will look strong on the table. More to follow (although maybe not quite so quickly!)

Very, very nice... I'm really liking the high-contrast shading combined with the gradient fills. I think you've found your signature style...(GriN)
