My first thought was, "Wow! Is that just the leg?!?!" Then I looked a little closer, oh, I get it. So the next question becomes; 3d? 2d? 2.5d? A combination like you did for your previous PA? My bet is on the last one. In answer to your question its 2.5+3d. The legs are done in the same fashion that my other power armor is done but I have improved on the 2.5d armor so that when viewed from most angles it looks 3d. Here is a rundown on the parts. 3D Body Hip 2D Legs Weapons 2.5d 5 parts that make up the leg armor. I have done these in varying thickness so that the plates can overlap on another to give it a more 3d feel. Also there are parts of the legs that have a front and back armor plate. Weapon shrouds Hip Joint Shoulder Joints I was hoping to keep it like my other power armor and have 2 sets on 2 pages but thats not going to happen. So here is what you get for the model. Page 1: Body, Hip, Shoulder Joint, Machine gun, Flamer, Rockets, Energy wep, Auto cannon, Sensor array and weapon shrouds Page 2: Leg armor, Hip Joint, 2.5d reinforcements (more on this later) and 4 Legs (1 stepping forward, 1 stepping back, and 2 standing still). IF I can I want to do two sets of weapons on page 1 so that yo can have 2 of the same weapon without printing another page but will see how the layout goes. They only thing I have left to do is make weapons for them and the weapon shrouds then build it and make instructions. All in all it should give you a large amount of options as far as how you want to put them together. If you mix up the weapon and leg combinations you can have about 20 different looking models. Nate

Well I was setting up to take my photos of the suppression troops tonight and get things off to Jim when stupid me I spilled my Arizona Peach Tea (full 24oz can) all over my figures and photo boards. So release will be set back a few days as I build some more . Blah I hate cutting. Nate

Yes a Robo Cutter is on my wish list. It would save me huge amounts of time as far as cutting goes.

Here is a small update on the power armor. All of the body parts are setup for textureing and shading. Below are the 2 pages that are finalised. There will be a 3rd page for the weapons. Weapon selection is a follows from top to bottom, heavy machine gun, twin linked gatling gun, large missiles, small missiles, sensor dome, sensor body, energy weapon, flamer, cannon and rail gun. The weps are not finished yet but I can work on them as I get the body textured. Enjoy Nate

Hurray! Very happy to see these support suits. ;D ;D
One quibble; shouldn't the text say "NCC Power Armor", instead of NAC?

Looks good, Nate. Looking at all the pieces laid out like that, it seems it would not be to hard to make a Ghost in the Shell conversion. Not that you need to. The textures look great.
How are you getting the black backs? Gluing them to colored paper?

The black backs are actual included in the file it self. Just like figures are folded in half to make front and backs I have made the back for you. Here is an example. I hate having to laminate or color black parts so this was my option for getting black backs. For figures that need black backing I go to my local office supply store and copy of a piece of black paper onto 110lbs card stock. I get a white side and a nice black back side for about 7 cents. Then I usually get yelled at by an associate and told how I'm going to wreck a fuser module that is good for 40,000 copies by running off 15 all black ones. But I digress. Nate

Do you have a test-build of the whole model (textured or plain white) that we can ogle perhaps? ;D

Do you have a test-build of the whole model (textured or plain white) that we can ogle perhaps? ;D Hehe your looking at it ;D. I designed about 95% of the model in sketchup so I was almost certain that all the parts would fit together in the end. I do have to make some small changes to the file first before I release it. The thigh armors inside needs to be shortened to make room for a new shortened hip joint. Also the holes for the arm joints on the weapon shrouds needs to be enlarged a bit. But all of these are minor changes like a few mm here and there. Nate

well the test build is all finished and I think she looks rather good. Now just some minor tweaks, make the instructions and then photo the finished model. Enjoy Slick

Wow!
She looks GREAT!
Nice job!
One request though... I'd like to see a solid fold line instead of the dotted line. I think the solid makes the model look less like a paper model...

One request though... I'd like to see a solid fold line instead of the dotted line. I think the solid makes the model look less like a paper model... I agree Beau! But, The fold lines give the modeler a difinitive idea of what folds and what doesn't. When I build my paper models I almost always sharpie out the dotted lines. I have most of them done on the model except the body and weapon shrouds. I just wanted to post a pic of what the figure looked like. Ill be finalizing it before I go and take my real photos. Nate

Looks very cool. Good job on making the 3D/2.5D build. It looks complex to the eye even with the simple shapes.

Cool! This is a super model. I'll be buying this one... I have a question though: are the different weapons interchangeable (i.e. slot-ins)? Or would I have to make different PA models with different weapon configurations? Oh! And will there be colour variants? (I don't ask for much do I?) DaveA

The weapons are not slot in. The model comes with 4 shrouds r/l small(ballistic weapons) and r/l large(missiles) and the weapon page has all the weapons. However the model above does not have the legs and arms glued onto it. I used blue sticky tack to hold the pieces together and it works quite well. using this method you could make some interchangeable weapons.

Price is $3.95 and you can find more information and a link to purchase it at www.slicksminiatures.com/This is my last model that I will be listing on Jim's site for all future releases please visit the site above. I will still be here working on some collaborative works with Jim and I'll pop in the occasional HOARD entry.
