Just adding an update ,that I have not forgotten about this project. I have the sample bugs on my shelf in front of me reminding me to get back to them.
I just need to get the rust out of my drawing skills, and slowly start to focus on the paper design stuff.
I'm hoping coming back to this project with fresh eyes will help me figure out how to finish it. JIM

Go to Boardgamegeek.com and look up Ogre - there are lots of fan variants there, and I think someone cam up with a "bug" set.

I just ran across the game, and am fixing to buy in after the beginning of the year, so I'm looking at everything related. The addition of alien factions, starting with bugs, would be awesome. Could lead to cereal box dropships and so forth.

By chance did Jim ever get this file out - at least in Beta Build?
I am just about to grab Armour Grid and have been playing Star Craft 2 (bought it last year but really wasn't in the mood... am now) and I remembered Jim's post.
I know he isn't floating around much any more but it would be nice to see 'Nids in a Zerg Attack.

As far as I know, for Jim, this is still a work in progress. For us a healthy Jim is more important than it's completion. But I have been kicking around some ideas for an alien faction for Mech Attack...

Nope, I can officially state that these will not be done in their current form. I still have the sketches buried somewhere, but who knows when I'd ever get to them again. JIM

Well, that's too bad, Jim, but mostly I hope you're feeling better now or soon. I liked the look of the bugs, but my hands ache just looking at al those curves to be cut. As a thought, maybe make details like that based on a certain sized circle, like so I can use a 1/4 or 1/8 punch to cut out most of those saw teeth.
But then you're not going on with it just so.
still it looked great.
