It's a great effort and shows promise. You definitely need to work on your shading, try finding examples to copy. I can tell the pose is optimized for 2.5D, but I suggest you build and photograph a sample to show us how you intended for it to look when finished. This should encourage more people to try your designs. JIM

Thanks Jim, I intended to post some posed pictures but the camera I had did not produce good results. I'll keep working on my shading. My hope in posting these mini's was that someone with some talent would try their hand at this 2.5 d style.

I think the main problem I have with 2.5D figures is the planning involved. You really have to work through the design a few times to get all the parts to look right. And if any of you guys are anything like me, I can see how to make it better after I finish.
Keep practicing and you will get better. Just try to learn one new technique with each figure and pretty soon you'll have your own style, and be able to design whatever you want. I'd rather help you develop your own skills than just design something for you. JIM

I really like your approach to 2.5D minis! It gives me a lot of ideas for some of my own projects. Please post pictures of assemble minis!

Hi Waffle, My sons camera will talk to my computer but the pictures don't look as good as my wife's camera. Unfortunately, my wife's camera isn't talking to my computer anymore. Some kind of techno-spat. I'll post some picks when I get it straightened out.
BTW Jim, you are right about seeing improvements after the build, that is why I am never really finished. In this model for example, you can put the whip in the raised hand but the weight of the whip will straighten the arm over time, if you leave it "assembled" instead of storing flat.
I've got a batch of human and smaller player characters just about ready to go so watch this space.
