Awesome, I can't wait to see them!
If vodswyld doesn't mind I could probably get them into a PDF format, though it would be a simple cut/paste thing with photoshop, nothing fancy.

Thanks a lot! I'm a huge fan of these guys and I am really looking forwards to using them.
I went ahead and converted the completed files into PDFs. I also moved the ranks of soldiers a little closer together, as I had problems with pieces getting cut off during printing. If you don't have any problem with it I can post the PDFs for everyone.

It's cool man. Feel free to post any kinda formatting you want. You might want to notate somewhere that the originals are courtesy of One Monk and Ebbles.

These are awesome, of course... but why is it I have never seen that Auto-Cannon guy before... and having the extra mirrors was a brilliant idea!
Great job, one and all!
Thank you for this.

The autocannon trooper was included in the folder vodswyld just posted, as far as I can tell it has never been posted before. I'm glad you guys are finding these helpful. Again, please let me know if you run into any problems using the files.

Thanks Slayerdragonwing for getting those up and set up for people. Yeah, I hadn't put up the autocannons before. I was considering doing some of the other heavy weapons but couldn't decide what else would be appropriate for a unit of high mobility troops. Even the autocannon was a stretch, and I was planning at some point to go back and set up some kinda exoskeleton/Glitterboy style stabilization system. I was also thinking of adding drop equipment, but never chose a design beyond the "how". Also on my list was technicians or other non-frontliners.

It was my pleasure, thank you for making such awesome figures and sharing them with us. If you feel like continuing the project I would be happy to help in any way I can. My Photoshop skills are fairly limited but I could do image to PDF conversions or anything else like that you need.

Hmmm. Lets creep this project a little, add some color too it. Wanna suggest some color schemes (and where on the armor/whatever) the colors should go?
Anyone wanna suggest extra equipment?
Also, as you can see I suck at layouts. Wanna do that?
My best contact is: john.p.hollar@gmail.com
I am gonna play with the drop equipment some today. The idea is that there are thrusters on the lower back and back/sides of the feet. A gyroscope connected to a computer in the armor calculates positional offsets and uses the feet thrusters to turn the solder so they are falling back first, then lights off the thruster on the lower back and back of the feet, firing off the thrusters on the sides of the feet to stabilize or control position. The soldier "lands" about two feet off the ground in a sitting position, with the feet cutting out a second or so earlier then the back. This puts the solider in a standing position on the ground on landing, assuming they are trained to avoid stumbling and falling over.
I am gonna try cutting up the models so I can move the parts around to do a couple soldiers in this "sitting fall" position, but I have no idea if I will be able to manage it.

I honestly don't think they necessarily need a whole recolor. These are space troopers, and I doubt they would really want to stand out from the scenery that much.
A recolor with brown and/or olive as highlights to the uniform would work. I can see the area around the visor being colorized, with shoulder pads, vests, belts, gloves and maybe part of the boot trim in either brown or dark olive or even navy blue as being something that would work.
I'm sure several would differ with that opinion, but I really like the grey overall. It is a very versatile grey, not too dark or light.
Or I could be totally off...
For additional equipment, I'd like to see a group of Engineers, who would have various cutters, analysis units and explosives.

Well, right now these are just enviromental armors. Nothing special makes them "Drop" troopers. I am working on splitting the parts up so I can customize them some more. Gotta love being at work and having nothing to do.
Explosives is easy, I can use the charges on the demo trooper. I might be able to make some kinda scanner out of the communications pack. What kind of cutter are you thinking, like a handheld cutting torch, or some kinda mondo double handed cutting laser cannon thing?

I was actually thinking both. Actually Jaws of Life, Torch and Sawsall. I think your Flightpack type of idea works, but even if you get frustrated with it, landing in a shuttle or drop-pod would still make them drop troopers. I just picked that one because he has no mouth. That orange color where his mouth should be would make a great contrast color against the grey.

I'll try mocking up some engineering gear tonight. I have been working on the thrusters, and I have a basic shape and placement for the feet that I like, but am having trouble with one of the back perspective ones. Anyone got any tips on how to do perspective?

Thanks to a handy paper tube, I got the perspective right, I think.
Trying to come up with decent engineering tools to equip guys with. I am thinking of using the same general idea as the backpack on the machine gunners as a storage pack for tools for an engineer, and possibly doing something like that for the Medic as well, as opposed to the carried case.
Trying to ponder out other tools that would be used by a frontline or near frontline team. For a breach I figure they would use breaching charges in either the explosive or thermite variety to get an entry hole.
Dudes with spanners and welders and stuff I figure would be support troops and would either be unarmed and largely unarmored (just enough to work on the outside of a ship without getting dead).

I used a big rotary power saw for one of my breaching engineers. Another construction worker with one of those "Jaws of life" and a "hooligan bar". These were all in those Space suit collection.
