Nice idea, along with Afet's idea of using card collector sheets in a folder, this would allow to gather minis in advance and group them for specific encounters. That's one thing I always manage to mess up - once there is more than one pile of minis intended for upcoming encounters, I am certain to swipe them off the board... It is only later that I find how many of them were actually abducted by my daughter when it comes to playing...

I just toss mine into a thick card box. So far so good.

good idea. in contrast for "regular" figures, I buy a divided plastic box at Wal-Mart for $2.00. I needed something like twelve for the Descent sets! And . . . I now have to store the boxes. I just bought Castle Ravenloft--and while the minis are nice, I've got a new storage solution to work out. Again, paper beats plastic beats pewter. Gotta go look at Amazon.

I keep mine in a 6x4 index card box, so that I can use tabbed dividers to keep them organized. Since I don't mount my minis on a permanent base, this means I can keep hundreds of minis in one neat little box.

I think you've given me an idea for a new page on the website: Storage options for your paper minis. I think it would be way cool to have pictures and a small bit of text for each idea. The only problem is I have to find the time to get that done along with everything else. Nik

I'm into reducing by re-using (I'm also really cheap ;D) I salvage return envelopes from bills (I pay by phone) and junk mail, put a label on the envelope and arrange them alphabetically in a kids shoe box.

I´m cheep as well. I got the binder for free and I get the used card sleeves for free as well, from a local gaming shop. They are a bit scratched up, but plenty good for what I need. I put a sheet of white scrap paper between the card sheets so that I can see the minis better. I´ve got so many now, that I´m thinking I might put some sort of label tabs along the edges to help me find minis more quickly. To prepare for encounters, I just fill an empty card sheet with the minis I´ll need and put it at the front of the binder. Here´s a picture, if anyone´s interested: Cheers,

I like your repurposed card collector pages binder! I had considered a binder approach before but had gotten fixated on getting pog or casino chip pages thinking it would be easier to pull out the minis. Looking at your example I don't think I'd have any problem.
I'll stick with my CD sleeves for minis category organization (one for witches, goblins, etc), but I think 'spotlight' models will get card sleeve pages some time soonish.

I find it quite easy to keep minis organized by type with the card sleeves as well. What I like about the binder is that it´s so easy to take with me.

I think I'm going to try the peel-back polypropylene page protectors (the kind used for photos) in a 3-ring binder. Then you can lay out the minis in a flat sheet to see them all easily. Has anyone tried this?

afet: I'm curious, what do the colors on the bases represent? Different groups of enemies, or do they represet conditions, marks or something like that?

afet: I'm curious, what do the colors on the bases represent? Different groups of enemies, or do they represet conditions, marks or something like that? The colors relate the NPC/Creatures on the field to my HP and initiative tracker. At the dollar store I bought a pack of miniature labels, and a package of multicolored paper clips. Then I colored the labels with a felt pen to match the color of the paper clips. Whatever color is on the base of the NPC/Creature mini, I put a corresponding paper clip next to their HP/conditions entry on my tracking sheet. This is particularly helpful for keeping separate the current HP and conditions of multiples of a given type of NPC or Creature, but unnecessary for minions.

That's something I need for my encounters, too. I usually try to handle multiple monsters of the same specimen by some part of their minis (say, weapon held high, weapon level, etc.). I usually end up guessing which is which when I suddenly realize that I messed up with the who's who again...
