New terrain: Air Cargo containers These are the cargo pods that slide into passenger planes.
I have 12 medium pods and there will be smaller types that will come next. Note: Because of the the non-cube shape, you do need to add weight to them if you want to put miniatures on top of them. Otherwise they will tip over.
I'm sorry there is no easy way to do that Parduz. I think you could adapt them to use that match box approach I was working on for Habitat 67. That has some draw backs to it, as the corners or seems wont always be fully closed. You could also do a slot and tab approach like Topo did with his storage containers, but as they are not all square it will be more challenging.
When you designed these, did you have a specific Transport in mind? If so, I'd like to see it.
This would definitely be welcome on Topo's Industrial Game Mat, as well as being good for general use.
I like Parduz's ideas there. Even in the future, I think they would generally want to send their buddies' bodies 'home'. Rusted hulks would also be quite handy. I think it would be similar to today in that they would not want to take the trouble to ship empty containers back to be re-filled. There would be some Triangular Trade going on, but especially on planets held for strategic location, there should be hulks used for just about anything by locals and colonists.
I don't think I said it, but these look great and will be very useful.
There are no strangers in this world, only people I haven't embarrassed ... yet!
I'll be doing some small hexagon crates at some point. I think the size of those would be more correct for coffins. I'll make up some then.
These are pattern after the container used by modern aircraft. They're made of aluminum, so no rust, but I did do a set of defaced containers that are beaten up and dirtied pretty good. I also plan on doing an upgrade so you can add an interior to them. This will allow the doors to be left open, but also, you can model heavily damaged ones that have been ripped open.
The Small Air Container pdf is getting closer. This is some of what will be in it. It will have about 18 small boxes and four box groupings. The group boxes are for filling out large box formation quicker.
oldschooldm: Yup. More power to anyone who tries it. It will only whet the appetite for people who want paper minis that were designed to be paper minis. :-) Fronts and Backs FOREVER! :-) [... it's bait, don't bite it! ... ]

cowboyleland: Now I have seen it. It doesn't advance our hobby, but anyone with half a brain who wanted 2nd rate figures could easily figure this out for themselves so I guess he isn't doing any harm.

berneart76: well, this is fun, (not) transferring all my papercrafting sets into the cloud. The stuff I got from DriveTrhruRPG was simple with their library desktop app,but my other stuff, sometimes with multiple duplicate copies is entertaining.

berneart76: Vermin King I usually use a mix of drybrush/watercolor/photocopy and occasionally posterizing at different levels of opacity.

berneart76: Vermin King, that's similar to the enhancing that I do on my texturing. I've found that sometimes I need to scale up or scale down the image (usually by 50 or 25 percent down or 200 or 300 percent up) to make get the enhancements to look "right"

Vermin King: On the zebras, I did multiple enhancements and cartoon filters and used them at 100%, and they still didn't look that different than the photos

Vermin King: When I make a figure or terrain piece based on a photo, I clean it up and align things to look 'right', then I create another layer and do enhancing and cartoonizing on it. I then adjust opacity over the photo image until it looks good. On the zebras,

Vermin King: berneart76, do you mean giving them green or purple manes and tails? and a few piercings? maybe a cig hanging out of their mouths?

Vermin King: cartoonizing a zebra doesn't do much

Vermin King: And due to the snow, I'm off tonight. I am going to miss the cash on the paycheck, but I'm glad they want their employees to be safe

ignatious: Actually I was referring to the two previous posts. I was trying to be subtle in order to sublimate the crassness. Read them again, but in Mel Brooks voice while he is winking, and nudging the person to his right.

Vermin King: Sure. Euphemize us

ignatious: would anyone care for a euphemism?

cowboyleland: We hadn't had snow for a few days. Last night the plow came down my street and did nothing but fill every ones driveways back in. Just for practice, I guess.

Vermin King: In KC we had an ice storm (with thunder sleet) the other night. Left things drivable, but last night the plow came down my street. They took all the rough edges off. Might as well have ran a Zamboni...
