I've been experimenting around with vectors and wanted to share my wip. I still need to add shading and textures to it, but so far I'm very pleased with the results.

Perfect and funny at the same time ! I can clearly see, how you are a master of line economy. Great.

Brilliant, I love him If GamesWorkshop buys out Lego, that's what we'll all be playing with.

I love this! I've been thinking of doing an 8-bit fighters set of Super Deformed warriors. Reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes for some reason.

Not sure he needs shading and textures. With the simplicity of form you might want to stick with simplicity of colour. Still, I know almost nothing, so your idea is probably sound

Nice figure! Is he meant for 15mm?

Thanks for the kind words.
I was thinking about 30mm scale for this one. I have about six pages of other characters like this one I want to do. It's inspired me enough to start on a skirmish rule set for them as well.
I'm thinking of adding just a bit of shading, almost a cel shaded look.

I like the coloured lines, but the more I look I think they need to be darker to match the contrast of the black on grey. Or maybe "grey up" the black? What is black seems to pop, the hilt is stronger than the glove or the blade, for example.
Just my two cents.

The color outline does add a nice touch to the designs. I'd suggest making the color outline as dark as possible to get the best of both worlds, enhanced color and crisp edges. The best guide is printing samples and holding them out a full arms length away, if the colors blend, you need more contrast, hence darker colors to divide the separate ares of the figure.
I do like the concept of the super deformed characters a lot. Super Dungeon Explore should really open up the possibilities for this style of figure, and give you an opportunity to get in on the bottom as the popularity of this style grows. JIM
