I was going through a couple of GSD files I got from pblade and noticed he used .5 thickness lines. I was wondering if line thickness on the GSD makes cuts more accurate or of its is just for ease of drawing? I use 0 line thickness and run my lines directly through the middle of the drawn line, which theoretically seems most accurate.

I think those were either early attempts with the Studio software, or possibly GSD conversions. I've since gone to a .1 thickness line, which gives me a good balance between being accurate & being able to actually *SEE* the line on the screen.
If you look carefully when editing thicker lines, you'll see a sort of highlighted section in the center. I'm pretty sure that's where the actual cut will be.
On a related note, is it better to cut through the center of the outer lines, or on the actual edges of them? I know I try to keep to the center, but is that the real intent of the designer? I've always wondered...

That is a good point and something I have wondered about on occasion. It makes sens to me to cut through the middle, especially for fold lines, but that doesn't mean I am right on that. That is something I should ask Dave about, even if the answer may seem obvious.
