Ok... many people think I am an idiot anyway, so why let them down?!
So, if I understand this correctly, you will be making the figures for their game? That is awesome!
So, I thought you were developing your own game. Is that going to be put on hold, or are you going to work this into your already busy schedule?
So, for what it's worth, I know it will be an awesome set. You do a great job and if you feel the need to team up with someone, then I know it will be amazing!

It's a fun setting and has some cool ideas. The people who worknon the product have a genuine passion for it and seem to really be in it for the fun. The best reason if I do say so. I'm also looking forward to expanding my repertoire. Win win really. The sets are also going to really rock.

Cool!
Really looking forward to these!
Can you give us a bit of a teaser of what may be included in said sets?

I guess the question is, Which comes first, the figure or the card? That example card is such a different style than your figures.

I'm getting going on these figures this week. I am looking to create a Sword and Sorcery set that will allow you to tweak individual types to create variations of figures. In essence it's a test run for the adventurer construction set and I'm kind of excited about it. So far I'm thinking of this the same way I would create figures using plastic sprues. I will have a few head options, weapon options and maybe a few pose options. Less colour options for the clothes as I am focusing on making unique characters, but we'll see what kind of flexibility I can create. Each figure will have it's own sublayer folder so you should be able to toggle them on and off. Let the games begin!

This looks pretty cool. Looking forward to the minis.
I still flop back and forth on the Savage Worlds system, but I'm liking what I am reading about this version of it. Maybe I'll pick it up and give it a read.

Work progresses on this set as well. There will be multiple-part figures with swappable heads and weapons. It's a bit more complex than the other sets.

Just a heads up that I'll be back on this project this week once the latest Serene Fist set is released. I'm quite curious to see how flexible I can make a paper mini set.

Just some random thoughts on the matter
Figure, just swapping heads and weapons would give you alot of mileage if you plan the body poses accordingly.
Or, You could keep the same pose but layer better weapons and armor on top of the model to show level progression. This would be especially applicable to fighter types who get heavier armor and enchanted weapons as they go along.
Scale Mail with Long sword & shield --> masterwork Chain mail armor, masterwork sword & Shield ---> Flaming sword, ornate enchanted armor and ornate magic shield
Magic user typed to accumulate more magic bling and daggers trade in to wands, and then later a staff, etc.. Fancier robes and bracers at higher level.
Hooded Rogue type goes from single dagger to dual wielding, more ornate armor, etc...

So, basically, you could, in theory, have 5 layers from Novice to Master. Interesting.
If you did them as black and white, then you could even have MORE individual twist on things. Flame could easily be ice (if blue), magic if purple, poison if green, and so forth...
Just saying.

I think/hope about a class-set ( I don't know "Beasts and Barbarians" settings so I speak about a generic fantasy ) like human ranger, elvish cleric ... With no more than fo 4/5 figures, the same character with different poses, but but many customization options for the character's level classes. For this many multilevel layouts. There is a very simple example, www.peginc.com/Downloads/SWEX/SW_SavageSteeds_Creator.pdf, about what I mean.

OK, this release is back on track. Just had to finish a long list of 5 Christmas present commission paintings and I am off work next week so I hope to get this set out the end of the first week of January, hopefully sooner.

Work journal begins in the morning. I have two figures to scan and sort out details. I think as this is a very complicated set for me to produce that I will be recording a behind the scenes journal.
To start, I am going to list the figures required for this set. Each figure will have three heads, three torsos, three leg sets and two weapon options. I will also have an "extras" layer of some kind for further customizing.
1. Northlander Barbarian (Male) 2. Amazon (Female) 3. Cairn Lord Warrior (Male) 4. Jademan Monk (Male) 5. Valk Archer (Male) 6. Imperial Mercenary (Male) 7. Ivory Tribesman (Male) 8. Lotus Master Alchemist (Male) 9. Bandit (Male) 10. Thief (Female) 11. Gladiator (Male) 12. Tricarnian Noble (Male)
So far the art for the Barbarian and Amazon is drawn. I will scan it tomorrow and draw three more figure sets, most likely in the order on this list.
Exciting.
