It's a ten year old anthropormorphic (sp?) fantasy RPG. Has some similarities with the d20 mechanic, but with some twists and a really cool magic system.
Has anyone tried it out or know what I am talking about?
I'm considering firing up a campaign for my game group and was looking for some opinions.

I know this thread is a few months old, but I just found it, so here goes:
I've got a copy of the game, though I've not had a chance to play it. I picked it up after a friend told me to check out the magic system and setting. The non-magic parts of the system seem pretty standard, but the way that the magic system ties into the fiction of the world is really quite neat. It's one of the those games that I'd love to give a serious try, but have had a hard time getting buy-in for.

That's basically where I came out on World Tree as well. It looked good enough to give it a try at the game table but my players couldn't get past the fact that it was a world populated by "furries."
Let's just say they were unwilling to look past the differences between furries and anthropomorphs.
I'll try again, I always have players coming and going, so maybe next time I bring it up I'll get a better response.

Well, you can ALWAYS test it out with substituting the "furries" for regular figures, right? I am NOT familiar with it, so I am not sure how it would translate. That is the best way I know to test a game. I think that if you watch a few episodes of "Brian Jaques' REDWALL" series, you can see that "furries" are AWESOME in fantasy role-play. If you have NETFLIX, all three 13 episode sagas are on there. I HIGHLY recommend them. It is the "furry Lord of THe Rings!" only with more DEATH!

I thought of that, my players are pretty easy going in general. The game seems to be pretty well written, though a bit “crunchy” compared to many of the games my group usually enjoys. But the World Tree system is pretty saturated with the setting, it would take a bit of effort and tweeking to make it into the regular high fantasy setting, and I usually like to run games “as is” before monkeying around with them.
