The news echoed throughout the land that the mountains were trembling. Only one evil was strong enough to shake the earth. The rumors that the Barrow Tomb had been discovered were, if fact, true. Only the bravest dare enter....

THE BARROW TOMB! (There is nothing wrong with a little shameless self-promotion, right? Of couse, I am also promoting the wonderful brilliant work of Billiam Babble and David Okum's Darkfast set).

As the party enters, they see bodies in the far corner. There is a scraping sound in the distance. The sounds of bones and metal grinding echo through the main hall. In the distance, the shadows fall to reveal 4 SKELETAL KNIGHTS approaching.

Instantly, Jeric, the half-elf wondermage, cast a spell slamming the first two into the walls. Elyria, his elven mate, sunk two arrows into one of the knight's head and chest. Paku, the goblin warrior strikes the other knight driving him to the ground. Carron, the human berserker, finishes off the other knight as the next two advance. Phagatus the cleric moves to protect Jeric.

The knights strike down Carron. Jeric bellows, "Send these creatures back to hell." He sends a bolt streaming through the sky blasting the knight. Paku finished him off with blow to the head. As Elyria moves, she triggers a small latch that opens a door revealing a hidden room. Phagatus cries out, "unholy troglydites. I vanquish thee!" The flames of Troyic engulf the two knights as they are reduced to ash.

The shadows move in the room. Elyria looks into the room. Even with her elven eyes, the can barely make out the shapes approaching... "Jeric, my love..." she begins... "aarrrghhh". She falls to the ground with a wound to her stomach. "ELYRIA! NOOOOOOO!" Jeric fills the chamber with flame. The figures continue approaching. Acting quickly, Phagatus pulls her from the path of the two Spectres now in the light of the hallway. Paku charges letting out the cry, "OLLLI OLLLI OXENFReeeED." The first spectre is wounded.

The spectre strikes hard and fast on Paku as Phagatus struggles to save Elyria's life. Jeric releases a disintegration bolt ripping through the spectre. Its cloak and empty armor fall lifelessly to the ground. Paku let's out a final gasp.

Jeric contains the last spectre in a stasis field. Elyria buries two arrows into the floating visage of the spectre. As with the first spectre, it to falls to the ground. Phagatus sees another chamber open as 4 more knights approach. These aren't merely undead skeletal knights... but something more deadly...

Jeric moves in position and releases two plasma bolts into the first of the WIGHT KNIGHTS. Knowing that these are skeletal vampires, the best weapon is wooden stakes and light. Elyria shoots her arrows into the chest cavity of a knight and it doesn't even slow him down. Phagastus conjures continual light on the tip of Jeic's staff. The light isn't enough to destroy the wights unless it touches them physically.

The wights begin moving toward the heroes. Elyria tries to defend against the blades and teeth of the wight, but she falls. Jeric, filled with anger, swings his staff striking two of the wights reducing them to ash. Phagatus pauses a moment. His strength nearly gone from the toll his magic has taken on him.

Phagatus rips the staff from Jeric's hand, and touches the face of the wight. The screams of the wight echo through his ears as the skeleton turns to sand before his eyes. Jeric rushes to Elyria's side. She was still alive, but her consciousness fading. He pours a little vile into her mouth. He whispers in her ear a private message. As Phagatus looks on, he calls out, "Good thing you picked up that healing potion before we embarked on this journey, Jeric." Jeric answered, "Let's finish this."

As they entered the final chamber, the lord of the tomb stood before them... towering in front of them..The LICH KING, and his temple guards.

A battle ensues, although tired and low on magical powers, the Lich is a formitable opponent. The guards fall first. The lich strikes the cleric before he can use his powers to turn the undead. He falls wounded, but still alive. It comes down to Jeric and the lich king... only one will remain.

The strongest survives... only to replenish the tomb with the reanimated bodies of Jeric and his friends. Elyria makes it out alive. She heads back to town to get reinforcements... to stop this terror, and to return the love to the world of the living.

Here are all of the figures assembled. There are enough figures to make a decent army.

Also, there are three weapon options for the Tomb Guards: Polearm, spear or quarterstaff. I was afraid they might be a little fiddly, but it was cut, fold, glue and go! Just a small snip in the weapon and staff... slip them on and that is that. If to like to store your figures flat, don't glue these. They can collapse if you wnt them flat, or simply remove them. Because they are interchangable, there are enough of each weapon per printing that they can all be equipped with the same weapon if you choose.

Great Battle Report, very entertaining narrative, and there is nothing wrong with a little self promotion.
