Just dig it (sorry for spamming if it's already covered in another thread, but I didn't noticed): www.cardhunter.com/Personally I'm quite excited, it looks very promising (you can play on your notebook during travel or boring business presentation (sitting in public, obviously or in bed cause of flu... etc.) Plus you can play online with/against other players, which is even more interesting feature. I like isometric view and oldschool standies - look, they have even classic RPG "Red Dragon" BTW: standies got white outlines, but its probably due to better the on-screen presentation. Although it is planned as F2P (hehe... which is usualy more costly than subscription based games), developers are promissing that it wouldn't be another one P2W (Pay To Win). Anyway - might be interesting and I'll give it a try

This company searched for artists on this forum some time ago ... isn't it the game DarkMook was working under contract on? Or is this misinformation on my side? Don't want to release some rumors into the wild ... . Yes, dear CBW community, that's the digital future - get used to it. I have a hard time with this stuff, as they are trying to jump on a aesthetical trend towards cardboard flats and standies? Sooner or later it's not necessary anymore to cut and glue and play on a table - just play on your lab/phone. I don't know, if this makes me really happy. It pushes the distributive and economic power into the hands of the few (crafty) people, who can bundle all energies and technologies into one winner application. The rest will starve. As is the Paper RPG industry starving under the PC/Console/Online gaming industry ... . The team is pretty impressive - some major names I recognize. I know those Dungeon Tiles - I have seen them before, I don't mean Babbles.

Sometimes you are really cute, @reivaj ... This game is a DIGITAL SIMULATION of our beloved paper mini hobby - something like D&D, Magic the Gathering, Babble's Dungeon Tiles, DarkMook's minis and Sammo's Into the Fray tossed into one melting pot. The team members are all experienced and die-hard Video Game/D&D Veterans of very high rank. The game will be good. But ... you cannot download and cut and glue anything. The game is only looking like that - but it's not the real deal ... . EDIT: ah, I forgot, @reivaj - no, they are far from Beta Phase, I think. They are fighting with this game to get it finished. But usually those projects are eating much more time and money to get done than expected ... . Risk of failure is big.

They are really nice people. It would be nice to see this game come out and really be successful. It has a really great look and feel, homemade, but slick at the same time.

Ad. minis - "in-game" only I'm afraid... Ad. game - not released yet - closed beta stage AFAIK
BUT... after some reading... cooperative (ie. group of players versus AI / or even vs other players ) mode will be implemented.
Imagine this: we (ie. Cardboard-Warriors Forum Members) can set up group/team against AI or even (not sure about this!) other group of RI (Real ID) players... (OK, OK... I know, but please do NOT compare it directly to dungs/raids/LFG/LFR features in popular mmo's :)
I'd like to play (if supported!:) as Warrior (tankadin-WoW style preferably :) or Support Mage (kinda AOE Healer and defense spellcaster) character, and who knows what chars/styles would be preferred by other Members vide parduz, palad, rhannon, dave, vermin, kill, cowboy, reviaj, okum, dagger and others...
Man, I'm seasoned MMO player, but... it would be kinda fresh and FANTASTIC experience! :)
Well... in the meantime... I'm pretty sure that papercraft "solutions" would at least keep their long-period position if not expand it! RG (Reality/Real Gameplay) with your real friends playing together on real (even if kitchen?) table should be at least or more entertaining/funny, but less expensive, much more flexible and easy-to-start in overall. So... Long Live Paper Warriors (supported by Virtual ones :)

I am a Healer. I am the typical 'Don't kill the Orc Babies - they are under the protection of the Innocent Church' Cleric. Would be cool, if this game would be totally modable. Then we could write Scenarios with our own Cardboard Warriors Artwork. Hehe ... . I was a bit pessimistic about the cultural/market impact of this kind of digital game for our paper gaming interests. But maybe, such a game could help spread the word - how great paper standies on a real table are looking ... .

;D Great news, @okum. Haven't watched the Paizo activities in the recent months. So, Cardboard Warriors should show the market, how a 'good miniature' has to be ... .

I follow this game ( card hunter ) from months Because it combines two of my great interests ( videogames and classical boardgames/paper figures ) and becuase I'm an admin of an italian videogames' forum from years ( now I am in a "detoxification" period. But this is cyclical for me, after 30 years ;D ) But definitely I prefer gaming on console ( So I don't like piracy. Of any kind ) and hope in a release on XBL Marketplace. But I don't believe it. We can ask some artworks to use as paper miniatures. Ask is always lawful, answer is courtesy. ( it is an italian locution ). Some artworks like this:

I admire this kind of simple yet very strong comic-style line art and flat, mildly tonal-transitions touched colours!!! It some way it's similar if not even more simplified but still eye-catching and imaginative as Baxart's Gorn Warriors (which are fabulous IMO - I should spoke it explicite in his thread): cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=baxart&action=display&thread=3462Perfetto1 OK, it's no secret that I'm huge minimalistic approach fan (vide Azzarello-Riso comic/graphic novel "100 bullets" just for example) but not provider ;P Wish I could be so focused and style-wise consequent...
