FYI I have made a call to the Newark, OH police re. this and alerted them to the situation. Hoping it's more a mundane "reading too much into this" on our part. Dave is an awesome guy and I'm worried about him. If anyone has contact info on him please forward it or contact the Newark Police at (Non-Emergency Telephone: 740.670.7200).

Thanks for your action, @okum. I have a bad feeling about Kiladecus' words.

The police have contacted his wife and though they haven't located him she claims that he was referring to another issue. I am going to continue to try and contact him and I would suggest we all do the same. It's important for him to know he has a supportive community that cares about him and appreciates him. Which we do.

Wow, I'm away for a few days and this? Thanks for being so pro-active, Okum.
I'll add my voice to the chorus:
Kiladicus? What's up? Don't really leave, we would all miss you too much.

As you have been active on this forum, kiladecus, 1 hour ago, and people are worried about your words and behaviour, I'd like to ask, if you could explain your situation, maybe via PM ... . Thank you.

Hello all. I was contacted by both the police and kiladecus last night and all seems 'fine'. As a teacher I guess I am used to being proactive on these situations, but as someone who cares about people and especially friends who have helped me out in the past and have been supportive of me and my endeavors, I just couldn't sit back and wait to find out what was going on. Kiladecus is an important and vibrant member of this community. I am excited to see what he is going to build next.

Thanks again, @okum. I really hope, you, kiladecus, are fine. You can write in your posts whatever you want, but you should be aware, that some (brief) statements could cause an unwanted ( ) chain reaction ... .

kiladecus: I'm glad you're okay. Unfortunately, sometimes life is hard. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not. But ... we must react. Reacting is often more important than winning or losing. I wish you good luck kil. Ciao David: Is really a pleasure for me to see that there are still honorable people. Thanks

I am alive. I also have VERY limited access to the internet at this time. I have had ANOTHER situation arise thie week, and my life fell apart AGAIN! (This is the third time in three years that I was hit with a HORRIFIC situation in January). A couple of years ago, I ended up in a hospital because of a "poor decision" I made. Dave Okum knew about this situation. He acted out of concern and I never knew what a GREAT friend I had in him until this happened the other day. I will not be going into details, but I will say that I am "fine." "That which does not kill me only makes me stronger." I feel like I could call Superman a sissy right now, and live to tell about it. As far as "irrational" actions, yeah, I make them from time to time... Every crisis is a learning experience. I know better than to try to drown my problems in fistfuls of Tylenol PM, I know that there are too many people that rely on me! My wife, my kids, and even a person or two here would miss me. Was Dave wrong for his actions? I don't think so. I would never intentionally hurt myself or others, but if I had some of the information HE did, I can't blame him for acting. Actually, when I arrived to see my wife, se said that the police were there looking for me because they received a call from Canada... My eyes teared up, and I mumbled something like, "Darn you, Dave Okum!" I know this is not the kind of place for all of this... I made this post to let everyone know that I will NOT be posting, making or doing anything for quite some time. I really won't have much access to this site, the internet or even a computer. For the people that posted here, thank you. I do plan on returning *soon,* but until then, I have to get through yet another horrific situation and then I will come back and discuss female paper miniatures fashion... and I DO like the high heels, Mesper. In retrospect, I should have said, "Goodbye for now. I really MUST be leaving." A little less dramatic... and a little more accurate. Thank you all again for your friendship, and to Dave Okum, I owe you my life. Not for any actions I made, but for caring enough to make sure I didn't! Take care of yourselves, and each other! I will "see" you all again *soon!* David Wears
