Ad. film - LOL!!! =>>Okum Female armor characters in games (1 page comic): www.gry-online.pl/komiks.asp?ID=64954Translation: Dwarf is asking: What happened, my dear warrior-colleague Her answer: Gosh... once again some teenager is playing my character!!! =>>Rhanon Ad. "complete and realistic historical integrity" Well I agree with you 100%. In fact I am more in Historic Paper Minis camp - in my magazines there is section with illustrations, descriptions, schemes, photos, maps etc - so reader can first read about armies, campaigns, soldiers ans their equipment, armor and weapons, and after reading he can cut out related figures: (BTW: hoping that I will not be banned for advertising and/or spam - magazines are in Polish language so here is not so called "target group" :) But in case of any forum rules violation, just PM me so I can remove) Dark Elven Rogue - as required by Rhannon :) ----------------------------------------------------------- Is it better now? Hidden and Dangerous... Well, this is more ninja than rogue in fact. Perhaps Night Elf (vide World Of Warcraft) Rogue? :)) Personally I think that is even too dark as for 30mm scale and I am afraid that on typical TN monitor (like in most notebooks etc..) some subtle gradients and even elements will be blurred or not visible at all... I think that this smaller, flat colour version of ninja at the back would be more suitable... But anyway - you've asked - and VOILA! :)))

Hello again! After some considerations I decided to remove Mounted Warriors from set - something about these figures and the whole set idea was wrong (plus I got better idea for mounted figures :) Mounted figures will be replaced by Sentinels (4 additional figures) and Standard Bearer. Basic pose for each figure remains almost the same but still there is a lot of variations - not only weapons and shields but also furs, helmets and chainmals! This replacement hopefully should be the last major change... Just some additional accessories, outlines, cover page and eventually this set will be ready :))

I'm sure it will be an excellent set

I have got to say I have NO interest in "fantasy" settings (I am 99.9% Sci-Fi), but once in a great while I will stumble upon an artist that has an AMAZING talent. In this case, I put you in the catagory with Jose, Labrat and Ken... You have made me WANT to build a fantasy army with your figures!!
BTW, I want to comment about your one female figure design (wait for it....)* I rather LIKED the one in the high heels. It gave her a sexy, confident characteristic that most people seem to miss out on.
*-I am known for making comments about females not have exposed mid-sections. I have seen two artists do this with making it look like it is part of their culture, and not just to make them look sexy... Sammo is the other one.
Great work. Coming from me, that doesn't mean much I am sure, because I am no one really, but I feel it is important to say what you feel, and I like your work... for what it's worth!

... really nice line-art with color wash here ... I like the Unicorn Riders and the running Beastmasters (with Big Cat Companions) the most. I also like the 'fine' lines which suit the fair elven kind very much. I am not on the puritanic side of things, really, but I get mixed feelings about the outfit of the females here too. Strange mix of Assyrian/Arabic/Japanese armor parts ... Elves from the Jungle, why not ... but HIGH HEELS? In the forest? Come on ... . Well, if it helps female roleplayers/wargamers to get into the mood ... cannot say something about that. @okum, the clip was funny, even without sound (I was too lazy to fetch my earphones ...) ;D

So many women I feel like I'm back at work in Social Security (75% female in my day); however, well done.
I agree about the high heels (you try running along a soggy jungle or forest path in heels), BUT the figures look good, so I'm not sure I'd recommend a change.

=>> Kiladecus - thanks for nice words! :) Regarding Sci-Fi - I am working parallely on a new series - near future Stellar Wars with Space Marines, Battle-droids, hybrids and mutants, clones, cyber henchmen, crazy villain scientist and (of course! :) aliens. Everything packed with hi-tech equipment, laser guns, etc... with some post apocalyptic flavor added. Some first Sci-Fi attempts here: www.kartonowefigurki.pl/sub-scifi.htmlBut I am kinda stumbling from time to time here, as it's a brand new theme for me. Plus I do not want it to be another "shiny/polished armor" space opera, or super-hero comic look a like, so I'm trying to develop new techniques, color schemes, textures (stains, rust, red Martian dust etc.). And, which is to some extent surprising me - I've found that designing/drawing mechanical equipment, futuristic weapons, robots etc. is not an easy task at all! :) To be honest I got impression that I kinda suck with all these future tanks, bunkers, rocket/gun towers, flying "gliders", energetic shields - somehow most of them ended up being or too steampunkish or simply unbelievable :( But I like the idea and all the stories behind this theme/genre thus will keep trying! =>>Paladin and Glenwilliams You both obviously didn't heard about famous Elven MAGIC high-heeled boots! Everybody in Fantasy Worlds knows that magic-powered heels gives sound advantage to Elves, so they can simply fly over the swamps, run with unprecedented speed through bushes leaving no footprints, fooling poor Orkish pathfinders and scouts! I would be more concerned how it is possible that skeletons can walk at all, and not even mentioning swimming... :)))

... ah, MAGICAL ELVISH HEEL BOOTS ... how could I forget those! These make the Elven Maids the most orc-hunted subjects of the Empire. There are huge stockpiles of (bloody) Elvish Heel Boots in every major center of trade. Plot point! Some skeletons have been sighted in the Corpse Moor area lately. They were flying with magical elvish heel boots. The Empire will crumble. No, seriously, mesper, you know your stuff very well. And I find your SciFi minis very unique stylewise with confident 'ink' lines. Also you are doing tons of this stuff already - so you're rocking, no doubt about that!

WOW! Not used to getting "thanks" on my replies... Any way, don't look at it as trying to "re-invent the wheel." Everyone has their own flair/style. I did my PSI-BORGS. Are they shiny space marine types? Could be... I needed them for a game, and there they were. Tommygun did his ABC WARRIORS, Reivaj did his AT-286 'bots, I did my SKELETRONS, and Deathdragon did his ROOMBA bots. They are all lethal robots, and they are all different. (Keep in mind, mine are supposed to be bent to make them 2.5D... Actually, I turned Reivaj's into 2.5D, as well. By bending the arms at the joint where they meet the shoulder, and bending the torsos out to resemble a "(" shape, they look as close are you can get to 2.5D without being CowboyLeland!) Sorry, I am easily distracted. I *think* I was saying that we welcome ALL figures. Don't be down on your work, it is very good. Did I mention I was for the high-heels? All in all, I am happy with your work, and am looking forward to seeing sets of figures in 28/30mm scale in full sets of PDF's. Keep up the good work.

BRIEF ROUNDUP --------------------- Still trying to finish this project... :) After changing page layout (new one is more clean/lighter, without big logo/info elements and with smaller/less advertising modules) apparently some additional space becomes free. So I decided to add more figures (mods) and one brand new scenery element - another tree on sheet #3 plus replacement accessories for standard bearer. Added figures: Archer (page #1 - just simply color mod), Scout-Assassin with knife (page #4) and another one Standard Bearer - with different shape and generally taller banner. Basically as you can see here: I still got some "spare" figures (like Mounted Warriors and Elven Ninja plus some color/weapon mods) but I would like stock with 4 pages - I am not sure about color/weapon mods but got already some ideas according mounted ones and ninja - so these are not completely lost ones:) In overall set contains 72 elements total: -37 figures (7 basic poses - if more substantial mods counts then >7) -7 scenery elements -28 accessories (shields + banners) Here's set preview: According to request - there are both Beast Master figure with beast as well as standalone "Da Beastie" =>>OK, infamous "HEELS COMMANDO" is still here :))) (but hey, Scouts are bare foot!!! - so I have made it somehow even, right? ;P) During the last stage some parts of set might be changed (which is a nasty habit, which usually leads mostly to errors... I know!) - for example additional banners could have not only different colors but also different signs/emblems...? The same for emblems on shields. I'm still not convinced regarding page composition - maybe there is TOO many and/or TOO CLOSE placed elements - which would generate problems when cutting/separating elements from sheet (shouldn't be problem to rid of some figures/elements in order to free space and put more "light" on ;) Plus there are also some silly errors like "Standardbearer" instead "Standard Bearer" on Tabs etc... plus some printing and "test cutting" should be done one more time... ...but in GENERAL main job is finished - TA-DAM!!! The only one thing which is bothering me is that my Scansoft PDF creator (I am using it for combining separate files into one, adding keywords/tags /layers etc) started behave strange and unpredictable after reinstalling :(( Anyway it should be possible to sort it out perhaps with producer support helping hand. Fuu... usually the first one is tough one - lot of time was sinked during changing outlines, removing bowstrings, planning/repositioning figures on sheets, modifying constant elements of layout etc... but at the end there is a chance that you will enjoy it - at least that's what I'm hoping for :) Well, but if you have any opinions/questions/doubts or ideas - now is right and perhaps the last moment... --- Hmm... am I overusing "some" word?

Excellent. When does this go commercial? I read "free set" on every page. ;D But mesper is ( a fan too, a great enthusiast, obviously ) a commercial producer. A well-known publisher in his country. So I think that ( if and when ) he begins to sell his products ( paper soldiers and paper miniatures ) worldwide with paypal and/or digital delivery ( for single set this is bettere for all imho ) we can support him buying sets that we like ( this is valid/right for all producers of good and great papers miniatures for me ). ... But it seems that this set is free. ;D

Excellent. When does this go commercial? it seems that this set is free. ;D Correct - this one is supposed to be FREE for Cardboard-Warriors Forum users, exactly as I promised at the beginning of this thread. I'm not quite sure how to release it but probably I'll post download link in this thread - it would be the simplest solution. Actually I'm working on tittle page layout (which is kinda must - although definitely not my favorite part of the whole process At first sight this one looks finished but still needs some tweaking (I'm "the simpler the better" rule believer:) I'd like also to contribute to the Hoard Section, especially that I like most if not all planned monthly themes (plus got some additional proposals)... but I saw that there are some rules etc... so perhaps I should read them first and figure out who/why/what/when/where/how etc. ;P BTW: some producers and users got their own "boards", where they can inform about releases, present drafts and photos, share ideas and discuss current/incoming projects. So, assuming that I would like to start with 30mm scale series somewhere in the near future - with whom/how (via PM?) should I talk regarding dedicated PERMES board (are there any specific rules and/or conditions which must be fulfilled etc.)? Cheers, /mesper

You should probably PM Nick for that. As I am a sponge of this forum instead of a producer, I don't have a board, so I am assuming this is how it is done, rather than knowing that this is how it is done.
My comment was to indicate that these are definitely of commercial quality. If you were to offer sets of figures for sale, I believe the line of figures would be commercially successful.

Yes. Drop NikLoveland a PM. He generally gets back to you the same day (depending on your country and the time he gets it... yadda, yadda, yadda.)
I love your work!
What I know (which isn't much) is you can post things (if you go through RPGnow.com/OneBookshelf.com) with not only a link, but also you can generate discount codes that people here can click on and you can set your price via the link.
I would shoot Dave Graffam a PM. He is VERY busy, but he is ALWAYS good about taking the time to respond... as he gets time. In my opinion, he would be the person to ask about this. (I can see him saying, "Wow! Dood! Why drag me into all of this..." Send him a PM, and DON'T mention I suggested it.
That's what I would do. But then again, I am nobody! I hope it helps!

Thanks @kil - good advice - I should PM/ask both of them! ----- OK, another issue - due to the lot of work I'm rather frequently reader but unfortunately not an active forum member lately. But, as I wrote in other thread I 'm working on "Elven Cavalry". In fact - Elven theme almost overgrown me... It was supposed to be "starter" and "quick and funny" theme, but in overall it becomes kinda "monster-self-eating" one!!! Well... my idea was to release full "bundle of sets" but it took definitely more time then I could even expect! Anyway so far I can confirm following sets: Elven Forest Ambush (including FREE version) Elven Warriors (you know: High Elves, Blademasters, Wardens etc...) Elven Cavalry #1 (Griphon Riders) Elven Cavalry #2 (Unicorn and Pegasus Riders) Elven Warbeasts (delayed - kinda War-elephants with crew and both "flat" and 2,5D) Elven Chariots (this one is still under consideration - but if - then obviously both "flat" and 2,5D - but I like this idea a lot... . In every set there should be at least one "modable" figure (ie. without weapons, shield, some armour/equipment - like helmet, coat etc... plus a lot of replaceable accessories) so you can match colors and signs, put your favorite weapon/shield/banner/helmet onto the chosen figure! At this point - just some preview collage - sets and figures are still under construction so please don't be surprised whenever some figures/parts changes (ie - screaming gryphon's should have visible tongues for example) And yes - the background "warbeast with crew" is designed to be at least this tall/big one! Cheers, /mesper

More than happy to get you your own member space. If you actually wanted it as a publisher (like Dave Graffam or Armor Grid) let me know. We can change it up. I'd like also to contribute to the Hoard Section, especially that I like most if not all planned monthly themes (plus got some additional proposals)... but I saw that there are some rules etc... so perhaps I should read them first and figure out who/why/what/when/where/how etc. ;P The HOARD Submissions are fairly simple. Someone starts a thread when it gets to the next month and suggest the theme. You can submit anything off topic however. You can read the full guidelines here but the main things are submissions are Creative Commons & keep it kid friendly.

Mesper, i'm going to parduz you a bit (an if you don't know what "parduzzing" means, you can learn it here ;D Well, your elf sets are gorgeous (thanks a lot for the free one!). They're also rich, full of thing and stuffs (about stuffs, i renew my humble request ) The only problem i have is about the page layout: I'd liked to have more figure aligned, so i could score just few scoring lines .... wait.... where are the folding lines? I NEED folding lines 'cause i'm so bad at modeling (and the longer you made that lines, the less is the relevance of the tiny "angle" error you do when scoring a fold with a ruler). Perhaps you should group all the miniatures in the same sheets and all the vegetation in another. Don't get me wrong, i apreciate to have the less paper wasted, but i think that a user may need (and will print) more miniatures than bushes. This is a question: are the wings for the feline supposed to be "flat" (like the miniature) or to become "2.5D"? It would be nice, but there's only one pair of wings.... (Be nice with me, i'm a good guy )

I agree. Nice lines and columns of figures make cutting and assembling the figures easier (not that I have ever disagreed with you in the past, Parduz. You have ALWAYS been accurate in your thoughts and feelings. I have to give you credit for that).
As far as the wings go, you can ALWAYS shape the wings to be curved to make them more 3D in appearence. I have done that with the creatures from Okum Arts Serene Fist set. I also have bent, twisted and "shaped" Labrat's Chocker Roots, and even Reivaj's AT-286 robots to make them ALL appear to be 2.5D.
I don't have any pictures of them currently,. but if you want to see what I am talking about, I can try to get some pictures posted.

Mesper, i'm going to parduz you a bit That's OK - as I already wrote in some other thread "parduzing" is welcomed! ...about stuffs, i renew my humble requestOh right... thanks for reminding!!! Now, I got such an idea: after finishing other elvish sets I will prepare some kind of bonus file for those who downloaded/purchased at least one set (not sure, still learning RPGnow tools, but I got impression that there is such a possibility - ie. send an e-mail with info (or even direct link) regarding new stuff/upgrade). In such a "complimentary" set I could add additional graphics, which would cover ALL elvish sets (there are different signs, emblems, weapons etc. especially for cavalry) wait.... where are the folding lines? I NEED folding lines 'cause I'm so bad at modeling (and the longer you made that lines, the less is the relevance of the tiny "angle" error you do when scoring a fold with a ruler). Not sure if I understood properly - you mean those "thin red lines" which are present on many projects - vide Sammo's superb Sci-Fi? ... If SO #1 - where have you been when I was posting test sheets, huh? If SO #2 - no problem, I can add this type folding lines to incoming sets Now regarding PAGE COMPOSITION I got your point, but at the same time described composition is kinda problem for me - I really hate big, empty, white spaces - perhaps mostly because I was more in printing business so far - truth is that special cardstosk used for printing magazines, as well as cost of professional printing are so high, that each small chunk of white space is... simply worthwhile and precious:) So it seems that I'm kinda living little in past... cause when it comes to digital publishing there is no problem to add another one and then another page... And funny (from my point of view ofc) thing is that I put a lot of work rearranging sheets composition, moving/tossing figures and accessories between pages, just to achieve more or less "standalone" and complete pages... Anyway I have to agree that keeping all the bushes on one page sounds reasonable - will keep it in mind! But I'm not sure if I can promise that I will change my attitude regarding other aspects of compositions - ie additional weapons, shields, banners etc This is a question: are the wings for the feline supposed to be "flat" (like the miniature) or to become "2.5D"? It would be nice, but there's only one pair of wings.... Well... among all of the advantages of digital publishing the one is especially valuable - you can print AS MANY pages/items as you need/want/wish?!? But seriously - as far as it's always your call - flat or 2.5D - I have to admit, that Kiladecus suggestion is good one: As far as the wings go, you can ALWAYS shape the wings to be curved to make them more 3D in appearence. Moreover - in incoming "cavalry" issues there will be much more wings (for some unicorns, Pegasus and gryphons) and if ALL "premade" figures will be flat ones, there will be also special versions which will allow 2,5D! PLUS wings in "cavalry" issues will DIFFER - ie there will be "top" and "down/bottom" parts of wing - or in other words - "inner" and "outer" (differentiation mostly by color and shadows). Light effects on wings will correspond with general lights effects of destination figure (ie. unicorn/pegasus) so you will be able to assemble wings separately and after some curving attach to figure so they will look a little more "realistic". I'm glad that you like set(sets) - and really appreciate all the suggestions and comments, it is very helping to know opinions and feelings, to be able to discuss some ideas - it could only helps... although in some cases I will not surrender - vide HIGH HEELS - please read carefully TAB description on one of figures on Forest Ambush Sheet #4.... ;D Cheers, mesper
