I have been playing squad based games from GW for a while now and while its been fun they are by no means perfect so I am hoping to get some of you to help me find out what else is out there.
As useful as a plane old list is a short synopses is even better. So what I am hoping people would be willing to do is fill out the following template for whatever game(s) they like and I can then quote them in the OP for future generations.
Game Name: Genre: (Fantasy, Historical, Modern, Future) Typical battle length: Typical battle field size: (e.g. 4'x4') Typical squad size: (a range is acceptable e.g. 5-12) Where to find and basic price: (could be a store or website or whatever) Synopses: (a short description of the game including what makes it unique, why you like it and a couple of its strengths and weaknesses. should be about 4 or 5 sentences)
I will come back later and fill one out for Mordheim and GorkaMorka. I just wanted to post this while the idea was fresh.

Game Name: USE ME (UM001) Genre: Future Typical battle length: depends on size of forces. I've played solo battles with 3 8-man squads per side in less than one hour. Typical battle field size: I'd say 4'x4' for larger actions although I have played in as little as 2'x2' with small forces. It's 15mm after all. Typical squad size: 3-10 Where to find and basic price: 15mm.co.uk 3.5GBP for printed version, US$5 for PDF download Synopsis: A generic set of skirmish rules for sci-fi 15mm miniatures supporting infantry and vehicles (there are other versions in the product line but I'm focusing on the first release.) Moderate bookkeeping (each miniature can have two health states besides OK and dead). Pros: rules are easy to grasp, squad movement is, in my opinion, brilliant (if simplified), includes rules for off-table artillery and air support, some special abilities for units, a points system and basic solo play rules, all in a 32-page booklet. Cons: not hugely detailed (units are defined by a type, initiative, movement allowance, weapon type and sometimes a special ability), does not include rules for overwatch or morale (although there are optional rules for the latter), alternate activation mechanic may degenerate into IGO-UGO depending on the initiative values of the units.
