Hey guys, I'm hoping you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to work with JPEG versions of PDF images to make cut files but the images are dark to where it is difficult to see the lines. Here's what I'm doing -
I open a pdf in Photoshop with the following settings:
Width: 8.5 in Height: 11 in Resolution: 300 pixels/in Mode CMYK Color Anti-aliased: Unchecked
From there I simply save it as a JPEG with the following settings: Matte: none Quality: 11 Maximum Format Options: set to Baseline ("Standard")
When I open the file in Studio (version 2.5.0) the image is huge and the coloration is off and the overall image has darkened quite a bit. I also see in the upper right corner a little exclamation in a yellow triangle indicating the image is of low resolution. In Studio I have also tried to load the image by clicking on File, then Merge but I get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Import as RGB and save out as a PNG file. Most of us make our stuff using an RGB palette not a CMYK palette so that's most likely why your seeing a colour variance. Not sure on the quality issue but try saving as a PNG as it's a slightly better format than JPG Let us know how you go

A jpeg saved at quality 11 should look just as good as a PNG.
As I was saying over at Fat Dragon to your crosspost, the resolution complaint is just because the image is importing to Studio as more inches than it should be. If you scale the image to the correct size the DPI warning will go away.

By importing the image under the RGB format and then saving it as a PNG fixed both problems; the color is identical to the original and it opens in Studio at the proper size. Many, many thanks! Now on to setting up the cut files.
