Okay, I knew Jan was a great artist, but take a look at the artwork he did for the Czech Republic military... I've been a fan of nose art since I was a kid, but this is crazy (but totally awesome) Okay, I couldn't decide on whether this should go in Jam's topic or Rawen's, but Rawen did a 1/250 model of Jan's Alien Tiger. www.facebook.com/pages/PRmodels/108137459276278And now Jan has done his own model of it in 1/48 With lots of photos of the painting project You can view the galleries and download the model at www.alienspapercraft.com/alien-tiger-2.html

I upscaled the Aliens scenery to use with 28mm miniatures: Where can this be found?

The "Aliens" series he says are1/148. Smaller than I'd use but they do look attractive. I was referring to the Coral Armada series, perhaps I did not specify correctly. I assume they will be on the same scale. I was looking for something else 1/28-1/32. Thank you.

The figures for Coral Armada and Coral Explorer are 16.3 mm. For 28mm, you would need to enlarge to 172%

I would import into an image manipulation program, scale it their and then maybe you would have to redistribute the parts to fit on the page(s.)

I resized (and altered the color) on one of the vehicles (in GIMP) from one of the coral sets. I couldn't tell you what %, I just eyeballed it next it a mini. As for the textures, I think they scaled up quite nicely. The crates are also coral, but I didn't scale them as I thought they were a good size for 28mm.

Very nice. I had looked at a few of those and after seeing your post, I went back through all the files. Not a lot of people in the Explorers section of Coral. But look at all the different styles of land and air vehicles. To enlarge as files to print, you would sure have to move things around a lot. What is your impression of the construction method on that (left, middle, right sections)? I haven't designed anything that way that I can remember, but it looks like it could be very useful. I would also be tempted to turn one of those sides into a motorcyle-ish vehicle. Have you looked at the artefact?
I'm thinking that if I were to mess with enlarging things, they would need to be hit with Enhance/Unsharp Mask to print well.

Everything went together pretty well especially being larger. Definitely moved things around. I got the two outer sections on one page, and two of the inner sections and four spare tires on another page. So two vehicles on three pages. I like the motorcycle idea. I'm not sure what the artifact is, I'll have to go back to my files and see if I can find it. As for enhance/unsharp mask I can't speak to that. I am certainly not that far along yet.

Well, hadn't updated this in a while. There are new Astro Racers, and the two that were hosted off-site are now on his own site. From the homepage, the links to Coral Armada and Coral Explorer no longer function, nor do they appear in the Models (Modely) list. My links posted above (and just below this line) still work. www.alienspapercraft.com/coral-armada.htmlwww.alienspapercraft.com/coral-explorer.htmlIf you hadn't checked them out, you should. They would have to be enlarged to 172% for use with 28mm, but I think they are worth it. I was checking it out again because I think my next project will be an enlarged version of one of those models, but which one?

I enlarged the ship with 906 on it. I moved all of the parts around did the sharpen thing and even made cutfiles for it but the fuselage had to be split onto two pages and when I was deciding how I wanted to put them back together my brain (just like an old record) skipped and... well. you know how it goes.

After looking through things, that was the one I decided to do. Do you still have your files? Maybe we could do a 'group build'
EDIT--
Took a look at this and dividing up the main body into two parts and rotating, I can only get this up to 145%. That puts the doors (parts 5) at 1 1/4 inch tall. My first attempt at making the door larger/frame thinner was not overly successful. But then again, how many aircraft have fully-sized doors? I think 1 1/4 inches tall may be enough. And the doors are the only thing on there that indicate the scale. It will require some more thought.

. Do you still have your files? Funny you should ask. I just went looking and found them. It looks like I took the doors to an inch and quarter as well, which looked adequate to me. Anything larger just made the whole thing seem like it would be too much. Now the conundrum is how do I get them to you. I can't seem to figure how to add an attachment either here or in pm.

I'll follow this thread. I'm thinking about upscaling for 15mm, 130% will be enough.

I'll follow this thread. I'm thinking about upscaling for 15mm, 130% will be enough. The figures I looked at are 16.3 mm to the eye-line. Do they scale things differently for 15mm? Or is 15mm suffering from 'scale-creep' like the other scales? I would have thought the Coral Explorers and Armada should have been good for 15mm out of the box

The figures in power armour are "true 15mm", an average human will be 15mm... but, yes, 15mm metal minis suffers from 'scale-creep' and tend to be around 18mm, at least the ones I'm using. The doors are around 16mm, so if I upscale by 125% or 130% they will measure 20mm... I tried do print some Terraforce recolor at 15mm and they are very tiny.
