You're welcome. I'm working on minis for each of the three games I'm running; I'm updating the Heroes Unlimited ones I posted here before, and also doing some for PhaseWorld.. Here's what I've done today so far, a 7'8" Uteni Cyberdoc, and a 4'7" Ratanoid Operator/Mechanic: Ooooh - SciFi even better - lovely. CS

Ooooh - SciFi even better - lovely. CS Glad you like it; I just finished the first page of them; because of the size variations I had to split the bases to a second page, so I'll throw a few more characters on that page too. On the bottom from left to right: Seljuk (10ft tall), Noro (7.5ft), Wulfen borg (8ft), Space Minotaur (8ft), Ratanoid (4ft7in), and human (6ft).

Okay, finally got these Phase World minis done; I had to change the first page as the bases needed to be rearranged and only a human sized mini could fit the remaining space. Elves in this setting are 6-7ft tall, and my human minis are capped at 6ft, so a bigger spot was needed for the Space Elf mini. The other two new ones on the bases page are a Catyr (same height range as the Elf) and a Kreeghor (6-8ft height range). -Mike

You're welcome. A bit of an announcement I'm sure some of you will be happy to hear; I've seen the light, and I'm steadily 'fixing' my previous designs by using a zero-perspective camera.. This will flatten the feet of all the characters to the bottom of the mini, and ensure an exact match between the front image and the back image. Here's the Assassin before and after. Before: After:

You can count me in the group of happy people Since you started posting about your figures I have paid more attention to other rendered figures. I have to agree with your criticism about bad poses and bad lighting. So in my mind you did it all better, yet that "compromise solution" of the large black border did not appeal too much for me. Technically interesting, yes.

I have to agree with your criticism about bad poses and bad lighting. So in my mind you did it all better, yet that "compromise solution" of the large black border did not appeal too much for me. Technically interesting, yes. That's why each set will come with two versions of each, one with the outline, and one without. But yeah, minimizing the outline was the goal with this change. I've already completed updating the first set of 24 minis, and hopefully I should have the second set of 28 done by tomorrow. Palladium has been busy trying to get three books to print before GenCon, but I'm hopeful that they will be done with them today and can get to approving these before the end of the week (my trip to GenCon is dependent on the sales!).

Kev has asked me to call him on Friday to discuss this project; Honestly I don't think it will take 20 minutes to get the approval once he looks at it, but they've been pulling 15-18 hour days trying to get three books to print before GenCon. That said, I need to cover all my bases while I can, so I've put out a request for commissions. Any characters I do will have a paper mini version included free of extra charge.

So far not one nibble on my request for commission work.. But I did speak with Kev and it's possible my minis will be in the market tomorrow or Tuesday... Fingers crossed.
I think we're settling on a $5.99 price point, possibly with a 15-17% off introductory sale.. 24 minis in package one, 28 in package 2..
Today I've updated all of my Skeleton minis and all of my Peasants and Nobles.. And started a set of Elves and Dwarves..

There's still a chance they'll get to it tonight (the editor usually stays until 8PM Eastern), but if not I'm calling in the morning it get that ball rolling. Each package will have a collage image of the front side artwork for all the minis included in the set, so I figured I'd give you guys a preview. Set one and set two here are the original not-flat artwork, but basically the same, and the image I've put together for set 3 is the tentative lineup, subject to change.

IN THE STORE NOW!!! Free Sample!Set 1!Set 2!I just want to thank everyone on these boards for their feedback, I really do appreciate it. Without you these would be much less refined, and probably just another unfinished project collecting virtual dust on my computer. Cheers!

Congratulations, Mike! I saw them just now in the new releases, and I know how long you've been waiting for today. While CGI-based modelling doesn't work for me on the tabletop (even though yours with the dark outline _almost_ leaves the uncanny valley), I'll be sure to recommend your stuff to everyone it does!

And kudos to you for a quick preview pic that actually shows the product in action! I know this has been a long time coming, so I hope they do well for you!

I really like the look of set #3. Keep us posted! Thanks. I've talked with my editor and I think we're planning to wait and see how well these do for the first couple of weeks. I'll have samples put together at the booth at GenCon next week and plan to plug the heck out of them there. Probably the week after next will be when they go up, along with my Skeleton/Zombie/Necromancer set: I'm thinking I need to do a small graveyard map to go with this last one..

Further mention in this week's press release, along with a surprise.. I've taken on making a Great Horned Dragon (like the one in my scale image from a while back). I should have one assembled and on display at GenCon next week, and I think we're planning on offering a discount coupon on it for anyone there who buys a Palladium Fantasy book (not confirmed). It should be in the store by the week after next. I hope to print one off tomorrow and assemble it; if I can I'll take some pictures and share them. Also, I'm adding a couple of Vampires to the Undead set above, and I'm thinking about throwing in a simple graveyard map..

So I've printed the dragon and hope to get it assembled tomorrow; Wings = 1 page, Body = 1 page, arms/legs = 1 page, and I haven't designed the base yet; I'm think I'll make two, one that's a grassy hill and one that's a pile of gold..
It has about a 10 inch wing span btw..

When I started putting it together it became clear that I would need a redesign; I'd like it to be able to stand without a base so I don't have to design the base to compensate for too much imbalance, and the first design was far too imbalanced. Also realized I needed more uniform lighting from one side to the other, so that's being fixed as well.
So finishing the redo today, printing tomorrow before work, and should have some preview pics (hopefully) on Tuesday. I go to GenCon Wednesday morning, so I'm down to the wire.

I've been reading about GenCon, but I haven't heard where it is going to be. Do you have a long drive?

GenCon is in Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center; from my house it's about a five hour drive with rest stops. My cousin runs a Zombie LARP called Ozarks Rising and one of his friends is giving me a ride to and from, and I'll be hitching with other Palladium Books crew while there. Should be in by 3:30 or so in the afternoon.

Okay, GenCon was great! Several people came by and looked at my paper minis and seemed pretty excited. I should have made some cards with the address on Drivethrurpg.com to buy them at as many were hastily writing it down to buy them later. Unfortunately I didn't get my dragon done and assembled for display, but I hope to have it done this week and will post pictures when I get it there. Meanwhile, Here's my gallery of images of the minis I had at GenCon.

Life gets in the way. Aside from quite a bit of substantial drama at work, I picked up a book cover commission at GenCon that's taking much longer than anticipated. Along with that my editor went to China for the entirety of last week so I felt no pressure to finish the Dragon. Now it's all on me at once and I decided I needed a pallet cleanser, so I threw together this RIFTS Leyline Walker. Enjoy.

It occurs to me that I should have added a base to that, so here it is again with one. Also, a Grackletooth Warrior.
