Sounds good to me, so long as you can wait 24-48 hrs while I finish coloring etc, I think 4 would fit to half a page. I have to do some gardening this afternoon but I'll get back to coloring tonight, I fixed the feet and left arm a little last night:

I love it when a collaboration like that happens! Agree Chris They are the best kind Almost have the first colored. doing a few slight variants should be quick after that.

Classy classics! What about outline around pipes - are you going to do it like on first black-white one? It would be tough to cut out small "empty" spaces between helmet/head especially these near center... Filling these spaces full with black will make figurine too "heavy", and leaving interior as it is = without any outline inside and applying just external outline around these pipes will suggest to not cut out there, also making figurine looking kinda strange. Actually I got similar problem with some figurines right now and it seems that there is no good and universal solution. I'm trying to pose figurines so there is no such problems but it's not always possible...

When you have the black outlines added, the openings will have flexibility to remove as much of the area as you would like to remove. Some will not remove any of the opening. Others will cut close to the tubing. Their preference. I do not see that as an issue on these figures. AND they look very, very good.

Purists who are so inclined can easily desaturate or print in greyscale to get the classic b+w effect. Now we just need a horde of incompetant swordsmen and archers to go with them. edit> The Volkites did get more screentime in the 1940 production of "The Mysterious Doctor Satan", notice the arm and leg color of the robot in the poster.

yep never fear the black boarders will return, I normally either add them last in inkscape or in GIMP. I had to remove them as they slow down the refresh in Inkscape whenever I scroll across the miniature. Big blobs of black are a problem but two of those areas are large enough most should be able to cut them out, the two small white areas will get blacked in I wasn't to sure on the colours but silver on silver was looking very boring and those retro robots usually have gold on them and red claws for that ultra futuristic look . I've been using this site as a reference has some relatively good screenshots www.thevervoid.com/media/undersea_11.htmI'll probably do a volkite with no weapon and two with no chest pattern, flicking through the screen captures above they seemed to evolve over the episodes and as far as I can gather the lightning pattern one(s) seem to be special. Some also seem to have a zig zag pattern around the top and bottom but I've left that off as it made them a little busy. Squirmydad have you seen the episodes and can you shed any light

all done 4 with weapons 1 without....Inkscape just started to get a little flaky to go above 5, they are 35mm tall to the eye slot.
I must have been half asleep this morning as I missed the poster above, red legs/arms looks pretty cool.

I finally got to watch all the way through the series and my opinion on the variances in details, based on nineteen years of work in the entertainment industry, is that the production elements were incomplete at the time that they started shooting. They built working Volkites, a Juggernaut, and a model of the flyer, but you don't get any sort of closeups of the flyer or the Juggernaut until episodes eight onwards. They filmed some stock footage of the Volkites down in the mechanical pulling levers and the Juggernaut driving through the forest, which they used repeatedly through the series. As shooting went on I can see the art and effects people going back and adding details, and then they ran out of money- which helps to explain the command to, "Activate the invisible deflector shield!" (cheapest effect ever ) Thanks for doing these Sirrob01 they look great! I'll get a promo pic built tonight and get the final package uploaded tomorrow. ;D

Sounds like the early doctor who episodes done on a shoestring with whatever they could lay there hands on being used as props anytime, if you need some other weird retro robot things give me a yell, good drawing practice for myself I've been trying to draw/sketch at least one something a night over the past few weeks

And now a public service message from Unga Khan; My Silhouette SD robo-cutter has finally, with a great gnashing of gears, decided to stop cutting for me. There will subsequently be a slight delay in the creation of the promotional materials for this project.

Excellent! I hope your sillouette isn't resting in peace (or pieces)
I also must commend Sirrob01 on handling the tubes on the Volkites well and adding suitable differences between each of his figures.
A very nice set.
Where did you get the trees, BTW?

Just spotted the update , that poster looks great as does the tv transmission image Sorry to hear about the silhouette, you probably checked but just make sure the holder hasn't sheared off mine behaved just like that slipping and skipping glued the tip back and back to normal.

Looks like I slightly stuffed up my mini tabs the redline is in the wrong spot by about 1/2mm (1/64), I must have bumped it at some point. Sorry all Score just below the red line when the front is facing upwards and backside is upside down.

Squirmydad: I like the texturing! The weathering in particular looks quite nice in the photos.
Sirrob: Nice job on the figures!
