The theme for this months HOARD is Sci-fiThis can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. EDIT (by Nik): Thanks for kicking it off. I just inserted the 'official opener'. I seem to have missed January, so I thought I'd start early Is it still sci-fi?

Ok... So, I take it we are supposed to send our submissions to YOU, Jose, in Adam's absence? Let me know!

Sammo and Sirrob have both offered to help with the HOARDs along with Adam. I would suggest posting any submissions directly to the HOARD thread and if the 'compiler' needs a different file they can ask for it.

Hi! Seems that January with "Fantasy" theme is lost and still no (except Jose's awesome Orcs) Sci-Fi submissions... So I decided to support this thread/hoard and (once again, like with ancient Greeks) follow the theme by submitting another free mini-set (and exactly as Jose I merged Fantasy with Sci-Fi, so I got 2 hoard months with just one shoot). Well, let me introduce the Orcs from Outer Space! They are obviously restless "Burning Phoenix" Legionnaires - vide firebird emblems on shields. But... there is something more about them! They are well known interstellar berry-eaters; to this extent that their skin changes color according to their favorite fruits! So beware! When unleashed, they can devastate your kitchen searching for marmalade!!! Preview: =>>>You can download high quality PDF file here: www.kartonowefigurki.pl/cwf/permes-kfdfree02.pdfHope that you'll find "fruitish-orcs" funny! BTW: if you like these Orkish Troopers, let me know - when I was modding them I did also several other figures, and now I'm curious about your opinion regarding whole set (OK, with more moderate colors) of this kind Fantasy-SciFi figures? I'm not sure yet but it could be quite funny project. Perhaps you have some suggestions, ideas or strict requirements, which might be helpful during (if...) designing it? FYI - I'm still working on Elves - in addition to free "ambush" set there will be 2 or even 3 sets (but in this case on commercial basis) with High Elven Warriors, Elven Cavalry for sure and... perhaps the last one will be surprise! Anyway I should definitely post some updates with pictures in Elven Ambush thread... /mesper

Wellll... with Dave Okum's Retro-Sci-Fi figures, Fortress Figures re-releasing the Bogeys, and the wonderful figures on this thread, it looks like it's going to be a good year for sci-fi! I might put something up this month!
Have fun! Steve

By the way, mesper, I would buy a complete Alien Orc set. Your interpretation of orcs seems very fresh!
Have fun! Steve

I already said I like mesper's space orcs, but I also like YOURS, Jose! A person can never have too many different kinds of orcs to squabble with each other! Have fun, Steve

jose - you are releasing so fast that you should be known as Jose "Machinegun" Dominguez... Long Axe/Halberd one is "da bezt" IMHO - absolutely SPLENDID idea with scull pauldrons!!!

These will be at 30mm (give or take like most of my minis are). As for previews of my other stuff, I'm just buying time while I wait for my cutter to arrive to get the ITF figures fully modernized, also working on the new faction on the side
