I'd need a recap about all the available produces of paper sci-fi interiors (i mean: walls and doors at least) being them 2D (flat walls) or full 3D (so, no just tiles). Listing the producers, not the available sets: Finger & Toe Stones Edges BattleSystems WorldWorks Mel Ebbles Fat Dragon Games What i'm missing? Seems to me that should be more.... I'd not take Fat Dragon Games in the list, as i don't see proper walls, just tiles and props.... if i'm not wrong.I was wrong

What i'm missing? Seems to me that should be more.... Yeah. Historically, sci-fi has been one of the least popular terrain/model genres, which is why there's not a lot of it on the market. Fantasy leads by a significant margin, followed by modern/historical scenery, then sci-fi trails at the back of the pack. Part of the problem is that fantasy and modern scenery are widely compatible across a vast range of settings, while sci-fi stuff tends to be more...setting-specific, for lack of a better term. In a fantasy game, a dungeon is a dungeon regardless of whether you're playing D&D, Pathfinder, or whatever. Same for taverns, inns, villages, and so forth. Modern is just like that--a city is a city, and it all blends into the background. On the other hand, Star Wars and Star Trek have a different look and feel. So, most sci-fi sets either tend to be overly tailored towards one specific look and feel, which narrows its target audience to fans of that one setting, or might be so blandly generic that they don't quite fit seamlessly into any one setting. The sets that are tailored towards a specific setting sell better than the generic sets, especially when the setting is a popular one, but it's still a significantly smaller market than fantasy or modern.

Well, you know I would never jump in on a conversation, but when it comes to Star Trek, the worlds they visit can ALSO fit into multi-genral (it that is a word) setting. In the Original Series, they would be in a desert one week, the Garden of Eden the next, then having a shoot-out at the OK Corral the following week. Just saying... Yes, you mentioned the sets out there, but don't overlook the 2D Paper Make It SPACE BASE and DramaScapes models. You may only be looking for 3D, but just a reminder that there are other great 2D maps out there, too. Sorry, I just saw where you said "No tiles only." Sorry! Crawling back under my rock...

In the Original Series, they would be in a desert one week, the Garden of Eden the next, then having a shoot-out at the OK Corral the following week. Just saying... The examples you cited aren't sci-fi environments, though, they're 2 natural environments and a modern/historical environment. When people talk about sci-fi sets, they're generally talking about ship interiors, station interiors, colony interior/exteriors, or other similarly "spacey" environments. Those usually have a pretty setting-specific look and feel, for the popular big-budget settings at least.

You're right. I was tired and the big picture on the bottom gave me the idea that it was a sort of "town" more than an "interior". Added. Well, i guess it's time to reveal some more, to focus a bit (i did'nt tell anything before 'cause i wanted "genuine" suggestion Sorry if i "played" a bit with you all ) ). A group of friends wants to (re)create the old Space Crusade map in 3D (or 2.5D) and, being me the "papercraft expert" they asked for suggestions. I started the post with all the product i can remember and...... ended with just five. That's why i want walls. Space Crusade is made already by tiles and doors (well, there's also the 4 big walls, but that's not enough). The product they're searching for have to be generic and not following the original design (which is pretty lame and forgettable, imo). Thanks again

As I saw it the look and feel of Space Crusade is more like Used Future than Biological Abomination. Any of the more rusted, greased and weathered sets would do.

As I remember it that would be more appropriate for advanced space crusade, the over priced set sold in GW stores that had space marine scouts versus tyrannid warriors on board their bio ships!! some others to consider parduz Tin soldier, very retro and free!! www.tin-soldier.com/paper/corridor.htmGermy has some here www.germy.co.uk/fprpg.htmAt the bottom of the page (no photo though), similar to the fantasy ones but in a sci-fistyle!

Based on these tiles, and the style of the walls, I think WWG's Firstlight (and FL retrofit for L shape rooms) is the more fitting style for a 3D board.
But maybe it is because I own Firstlight and I'm thinking in solving the problem with the tools at (my) hand. The MMiP walls also look perfectly good for the job.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, it isn't a problem in a derogatory meaning of the word.
Problem: making a Space Crusade Set.
Solution: For me it would be doing it in Firstlight modules, for you it may have a different solution, after all I own Firstlight, and maybe you can meet your needs without acquiring it.

Oh! I understand now Well, it depends on what my friends will like to build. For 2D (flat) walls, I agree that it seems to me the more "straight" way to go, but Mel's Module:Core or F&T Omega Prime could work as well. For full 3D (an option i'd not choose if i were in my friends shoes, 'cause the original map show walls as lines) perhaps Fat Dragon is the best solution.... All the other sets are good as well but i see more work in re-texturing / re-modelling.

the walls are about 3mm thick on the boards you could stretch that to 5mm and do foam core walls and wrap textures around all sides, bit like I did the Telescope.
Not sure on your storage space but since its fixed layout you could use magnets in the wall bases and floors for fold away storage. or look at some form of interlocking foam board design for the walls.
I do remember space crusades used to get awful cramped when playing and I always thought it was a good candidate for upscale to 30mm squares.
