Hey everyone, I came up with an idea a few weeks ago, and started this yesterday. My WHOLE family was sick , so I have been playing nursemaid, so I couldn't finish it yesterday... but *soon.* I was coloring the final version, and I happened to notice it looks a little like a PONTIAC AZTEK... purely coincidental! I know not everyone likes 3D models, so this model will have a 2D version OR a 3D version. This is the first model I have designed that I didn't use SHUFFLER for. Also, I don't use "unfolding software." Just my ruler and EXCEL. ;D I think it is pretty cool. Any thoughts? Attachments:

There is going to be a top-mounted dual-heavy-machine gun tower, and YES, you can place a figure in the bed.

WONDERFUL! What scale it is? Do you think it can be built in a "micromachine" scale?
Suggestion: I'd keep the front wheelhub consistent with the back ones: so horizontal line and the same shadowing of the back (or it seems that the front wheels are langer than the back, and protruded out from the car shape).
....
too hard to explain what i'd like to say more.... would you put here the side view, so i can draw some lines on it to show what i'd like to request?

Very good!
Put a B&W lineart of it too, so that we can try our hand coloring it.
Any chance of doing 3D wheels?

Nice work Kila! Your willingness to take on new challenges and quick ascent up the learning curve is very inspiring!

Shouldn't the upper panel of the front wheel be over, and not under the top of the wheel?
I'm talking about the traingular panel that goes from the door hinge to the front hook. It looks like it should hid the top of the wheel instead of the top of the wheel going over it.

Really liking this, it looks awesome! I agree will a B&W version be available for us to color? ;D

I have gotten a LOT of feedback on this... so much, I nearly scapped the idea (for now until I can spend more time on it). @ Parduz: I followed your Facebook suggestions, and I cleaned up the lines a little and "fixed" the door. It may still not look "better," but I am calling it "done." @ Tiago: 3D wheels - Not from me. I am NOT that kind of an artist. On a positive note, the way the frame sits, you can't really see under it that much. I DID consider it, but it doesn't seem to be worth the amount of work for what it would benefit. So, no... I am afraid that it won't have 3D wheels. (Although, the double thick cardstock DOES make it very sturdy). @ CoyboyLeland - Thanks! I try very hard to "push" myself and try different things. I came up with this thought about 3 weeks ago, and told myself I had one day to play with it (since I have SO many other things going on right now). My WHOLE family got sick, so I have been playing nursemaid... so I gave myself an extra day to work on it. I actually finished the thing. The idea was sound, and I am pretty happy with the results. This is the FIRST 3D model I have designed that didn't require Paper MakeiT's SHUFFLER to do. THAT was a big step. The coloring isn't all hand-colored, either. I used the program I laid it out in to "help" with the details. (I can do a lot with Sharpie's but also EXCEL). It is a tough little jeep/pick-up/Hummer mix that has a lot of potential. I was going to work on weapons to mount on the hatch, but I figured it would be best ot have people be able to add their own. Also, since you CAN have a figure stand up i the bed, you can have a figure there without having to worry about the gun getting in ther way. If you wanted to use this as a cargo transport, you can as well. The bed is 1 1/2" x 1". You can place figures with base upto 50mm (or there abouts). Also, if you wanted to put a metal figure in there, you can. I put my metal Space Marine in there, and it held beautifully! The bed sits directly over the rear tires, and can support quite a bit of weight. Is this the "best" model of it's kind out there? Maybe not, but it is the best that I have done. ;D As far as various colors go, it is a "light grey" so you can easily color it with markers (trust me, you can color something with markers, and have it turn looking ok). Seriously, to get the shading to look right, I had to "color" it. The B&W version wouldnt look much different. Thanks for your attention. I am going to get ready to finish this out and get it on the "Shelf." Attachments:

Here is the rear of the CAMEL showing it's bed. One thing I look for in a model is how quickly it goes together and how the finished product looks. I can say that you can build this in about ten minutes, and although it is not an Ebbles, Grendels_Mother64 or Finger and Toe model, it isn't too shabby! Thanks for your attention! ;D Attachments:

Does the release come with weapons?

I thought about it, but decided not to. If you want, Ebbles has the BEST weapons in the business, and I am sure they will fit on this. ;D

I have been working like a mad horse trying to get the K'VYK army and Rulebooks done before Christmas! Here is a sneak peek of the Camel that is going to be in the set. It comes in three colors (plus the original, sold separately). * - Desert Camo * - Arctic Camo * - Stealth (Black) I plan on releasing new colors in future releases. I *may* also include them in one MONDO set when all is said and done... down the line. Naturally, they have both the 2D and 3D versions. Now I have to get ALL of this stuff laid out and written. It loks like it will be 2 docs, each about 23 pages. And I have 1 WEEK! Attachments:

Looking good Don't burn yourself out, better to release a week or two (or even a month) late than suffer burn out.

I admit I am pushing myself VERY hard. That is when I get the best results, I think. I did the Pet Drake in 4 HOURS (I drew the original sketch at 7:30, and had in available for download by 11:30). ;D Come to think of it, I did Warmancers III in like two or three days! I spent the majority of today double-checking alignment of 6 vehicles, and 18 (yes, 18) hover bikes! Tomorrow I will start he actual figure layouts now that I have the Fast Assault and Heavy Support options laid-out. I have to write the Codex and draw the Commanders/ Named Figures... those will be the LAST things to do for this stage ot the set. Then it is the CORE RULEBOOK! This is going to be the thing that really is going to take the most time, and I REALLY want to release it all as one package! The rules are going to have scenarios, as well!

Hey Kiladecus, I just wanted to say that I bought your Camel FAAV yesterday and it is great! The unified 2D and 3D design is genius.

I saw the sales notification this morning. Thanks for picking it up! ;D I bet you NEVER thought you would use the word "genius" when talking about me, huh? Parduz gave me a GREAT suggestion that I used when I redid the CAMEL... I am using it on all of my 2D/3D models... I am lining hte bodies up vertically, and placing the "box" next to it. You can get the whole model on one sheet!

I bet you NEVER thought you would use the word "genius" when talking about me, huh? LOL don't talk like that, man Parduz gave me a GREAT suggestion that I used when I redid the CAMEL... I am using it on all of my 2D/3D models... I am lining hte bodies up vertically, and placing the "box" next to it. You can get the whole model on one sheet! That sounds great! BTW IMHO (yay acronyms FTW) having the model divided in 3 pieces is way better than trying to make it like a single "box" like some other car models I've seen. Single piece cars end up having weird flaps that are hard to cut and glue with the small benefit of having the roof perfectly aligned.

Actually, it is the exact model (only cleaned up and has better textures). Here is what I meant when I said the pieces are turned vertically. Parduz had a GREAT idea on that one. ;D Attachments:

Yes, his point was you only have to score ONE line instead of two. That Parduz is one clever guy! It saves time and energy. I am ALL about that!

My step-daughter asked me to fix her broken earring, so I went to my "Bits Box" and blew the dust off of it. While looking for my super glue, I found this little piece... Not bad for a 10 second conversion, at least I think so. Attachments:
