I've been playing around with anew brand of marker from Sharpie called stained by sharpie. www.sharpie.com/enUS/Pages/stained.aspxThey are designed for use on clothing but I'm finding them great for mini/model edging. They have a brush type tip which doesn't seem to bleed as much as a regular marker and I'm finding I can get much more fine control when using them than a regular marker its more like painting. Only problem I haven't found a packet with only black and my use for edging in the other colors is limited. Anyone know of manufacturer who sells something similar but individually (all Ive found are in big or little colour packs)?

I swear by Tombow brush tips for edging - here's my set hanging on the wall in a brush-holder my daughter gave me. I can buy them individually at art supply stores for about $2 each and they don't bleed like regular sharpies. I reverse-side edge just after cutting and before gluing - the brush tip is wonderfully pliable. Attachments:

Thanks both I'll see if I can track those down down under . I know I can normally get faber-castel stuff locally not sure on Tombow I'm really liking the brush tip it's like a whole new world of control.

I swear by my Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen. The Faber-Castell's were my favorite until I found the Tombow. The real advantage to me is the ability to buy individual brush-pens (I couldn't find a local source for individual F-Cs).

uncovered a brush-tip by Copic - Multi liner BS. Available from Eckersley's for anyone else down under, not what you'd call cheap

I swear by my Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen. I use Faber-Castell for all of my Geological Mapping. They are good pens, if a bit expensive.

I use Faber-Castell for all of my Geological Mapping. They are good pens, if a bit expensive. I loved best them until I discovered the cheaper, more colored, and individually purchasable Tombow. If FC is all you can get - and specifically the Greys set - they're awesome!
