This is my first post here so... Hello everyone! Ma name is Krzysztof (or Chris for non slavic speakers). I used to make a lot of paper models in my school days and recently (after ~12 years break) I returned to this hobby and found this board. I've been lurking around for some time since and finally decided to show up with paper models I make. Most of them are not exactly cardboard warriors but still wargames related. For past few weeks I have been working on a model of a medieval veuglaire in 30mm scale. The effect you can see below. The one to the right is the finished version, the rest are subsequent prototypes. And another pic. with wedging hammer resting on the hooks. (The hammer is also 100% paper. Now I'm thinking on the accesories (gunner tools and supplies) limber and draft horse (In 3d. 2d would be too easy )Perhaps later I will make some crew (these rather in 2d) Hope you like it. Any comments are welcome.

Welcome and thanks for sharing these nice pictures.
Out of curiosity, so that I can have a better sense of scale: is the grid on the board in centimeters or inches?

Welcome and thanks for sharing these nice pictures. Out of curiosity, so that I can have a better sense of scale: is the grid on the board in centimeters or inches? Grid is in cm. The model is 75x50mm and 22mm high.

Great thanks for all your comments and welcome. Here are some pictures of what I work on now. First is a quick proxy of a limber with cannon in marching position. Second is my first attempt at making the crew - in this case master gunner, presently only half done (he presents his better/only side on the photo Still a lot to improve. It is the first figure I have drawn in a long time. What do you think?

Looks very good, indeed.
Do you texture these before printing or are these painted?

The cannon and accesories are fully textured and printed without any retouch. Limber is hand drawn with thin markers. The guy is digipainted, printed and retouched with acrylic. Now im working to get from the printer what I got after the hand retouch.

Thanks for the link cowboyleland. Haven't seen Tirick's works before. They are pretty impressive, especially his courser and riders. I'm taking a bit different approach to my draft horse design though. It is planned for smaller scale than Tirrick's (I'm aiming at 28-30mm "to eye" scale). Prototype is almost ready, hopefully I will post some photos soon.

What is amazing with Tirrick's work is that it is 28mm to 30mm. A bit tricky to build at that scale.
Anxious to see your approach

What is amazing with Tirrick's work is that it is 28mm to 30mm. A bit tricky to build at that scale. Anxious to see your approach What I mean is that Tirrick's models, as well as their complexity I presume, are designed for 35 and 50mm. (At least he wrote so.) You can of course downscale them to 28-30mm, but as you wrote - it's getting tricky to build. These 5-7mm of difference do make a difference when it comes to small parts . My horse should be simpler, slightly more schematic and bulkier (to resemble something more coldblood like breton or arden breed). I've posted some photos of bulk prototype on my blog. If interested you can see it here. Just don't want to spam the thread with such an early WIPs.

That's quite the detailed cannon! Very good job! I like the rustic look. It makes LabRat's Dwarf cannon not look so complicated.

Your wip headless horse has excellent lines. I'm always trying to find new ways to do things. Over at papermodelers dot com there is a thread on an 1800s harbor. Starting on page 7 he describes how he does his horses, carriages, etc. It may give you some ideas. www.papermodelers.com/forum/diorama/21608-harbour-1800s.htmlAnd Tirick's figures are available in 1:50 and 1:35, which is 28mm and something bigger. I think your creations would be as popular with 'modelers' as 'gamers'. Very nice.

Thanks for the link Verminking, though I haven't seen the attachments yet. Another board I need to register I guess . And Tirick's figures are available in 1:50 and 1:35, which is 28mm and something bigger. Indeed it was 1: 35/50 not mm. My mistake. Still 1:50 gives ~34mm to eye level of average 1,80m high man (36 for the whole person) so I was closer ;D.

If you do register over there, post an intro post. I think you will find some of Silveroxide's posts rather interesting, too. I know of several members there that would be drooling over your cannon and limber.
I'm a little lax on 'scale'. I generally accept 1:50 to 1:60 as being in an acceptable range.
