I'm looking for a program that can create custom cards that are about MTG or trading card size. Figured I'd see what's already available before resorting to illustrator. If not then what would be the best way about creating cards in illustrator?
Also I know this one is a long shot but where can I find nice free art/pictures/clip art (whatever the name is, lol) to use on cards. Something like what would be found on nice trading cards. Its more for a personal project than anything.

Its more for a personal project than anything. As long as you're going to keep it for personal use, you should find literally thousands of great images in DeviantArt groups like this one: fantasy-npc.deviantart.com/gallery/Reddit serves up these: www.reddit.com/r/ImaginaryCharacters/, www.reddit.com/r/ImaginaryLandscapes/ and www.reddit.com/r/ImaginaryMonsters/ and between those three you should have no trouble finding anything you want at all Another tip is to go to Pinterest and do a search for whatever you're interested in looking for. It's like searching through google images, but you'll find only really high-def awe-inspiring pictures because people don't pin ugly pics too often. For weapons, armour and photos of the more majestic parts of the real world, I've found this to be invaluable.

Magic Set Editor is a very deep and versatile software.... with an embarassing steep learning curve, an active comunity which COULD help you (i've never understood why sometimes you get answers and sometime you just get nothing) and an ugly, outdated and unconfortable interface if you want to make cards at a higher resolution than what the programmer had when he designed the UI.
The end result could justify the efforts, but i've abandoned my projects 'cause the hassles were too much.

I'm definitely going to have to check a few of these links out and maybe give them a try. I'm wanting to make some fantasy based cards like spells, loot, and such. Hopefully it isn't too steep of a learning curve. I'm glad so far Photoshop and Illustrator have been easy for me to learn so if I'm lucky it won't be too bad lol.

I use Adobe Illustrator for my RPG cards. Then I will turn them into form based PDF's I tried that way (using acrobat) in the exact same moment that Adobe ceased to allow to import images in the form fields with the reader..... abandoned that way also

I have had Adobe CS2 for years (Can't afford to upgrade, only got CS2 because it was cheap for students at the time) and Adobe Live Cycle Designer 8.0 allows you to import images in the form fields. Although I have the paid version, have you seen this thread? GURPS Example 1GURPS Example 2GURPS Example 3I can't figure out the coding for MSE and many of the members there pretty much have the attitude of "We figured it out so should you" so I just gave up and I now stick with Form Based PDF's. I'm going to be making my GURPS Maneuver cards form based so people can make as many as they want so I will be adding forms and layers to them.

Yes, I already mined your blog for all GURPS goodness.
I may redo my GURPS Equipment sheets now, your design is much more appealing. Only, there appears to be a white line in some of the backgrounds of the character cards. Just below the Dodge, Parry, RD wording.

I even redrew the background from scratch in illustrator instead of the one from Photoshop and it STILL has it, I'm not sure what to do about it. I've only noticed it a tiny bit with the printed cards. I like your equipment cards and I really like the container cards. Also for those of you that are interested you can always do something like this with your RPG cards I've only been able to get up to 30 on the dials. It is a nice way to keep track of Hit Points, Fatigue Points, Mana, or what have you. I wonder if I could design a 2 part dial? Not sure how easy it would be to turn.

I just noticed something.
There's two places to put DR on the card. Perhaps the 'DR' that is in the same line than 'Dodge' and 'Parry' should be 'Block' instead?

Nope. The top DR is Natural DR and the bottom is from any armour placed on the NPC/Monster. However you are right. I did forget to put block on the card
