I got my beta invitation to this: Card HunterAnd I have to say, playing it has been a total blast. If this were an actual tabletop game, I would definitely play it (and have no shortage of figures). Look at the gallery--the characters are all front and back flats, flat feet and everything.

It's a brilliant game. I got my code a few weeks ago, but I haven't actually played much in a couple of weeks.

This game is freaking awesome! I love the paper figures they use and the old school dungeon feel. The tiles they use remind me of Billiam Babble wonderful inked adventure tiles. Are you in on this game bro?

Nice game, interesting the mix between a collectible cards game and a skirmish fantasy game. What it's missing, and perhaps it's not in the spirit of the game, is the possibility of explorations and different choice other than battle. I reached level 9 and, imho, it seems to become a little repetitive after a while. The "minis" are really well done, only too well they are not downloadable...
I received three Card Hunter Beta keys, if someone is interested may contact me in pm.

Are you in on this game bro? I don't think he has any hand in it, though it certainly does make me crave more overland and aboveground tile-sets from him. I've been enjoying the game over the last few days. I really hope that game brings more awareness and appreciation for the paper minis as more than mere stand-ins for metal kind, and hand-drawn (at least style of) map-tiles like Inked Adventures. I wonder if they will consider releasing the minis & maps as digital or POD? I know they would be concerned about copying their work, but it'd be a fine way to make more money off the game (I'll not be joining the "club" for extra in-game loot), and broadcast the hobby. Geek queen Felicia Day's been playing it, who knows, perhaps there will soon be The Guild paper minis?!

Greatly enjoy Card Hunter but their are some frustrating plateaus in difficulty here and there. Great concept and look, though! Lots of fun regardless.

Immediately after a few days my code is arrived. So now I'm around level 7 ( both as dungeons that as characters ). Now I start to meet the first game's difficulties. But it is so and it is right that it is so, imho. It is an easy game (but it is not simplistic) master the game mechanics requires more and more attention, and leveling up, it always forgives less. Understand which characters' classes to use for a specific adventure (dungeon), which objects to give them (the cards' deck is randomly shuffled but the cards that are in the deck come specifically from the objects that the character has with him at that time ), know which card to play before, how to move using the terrain, know the enemies weaknesses ... The onlyrandom part remains the cards' draft but it may be partly limited by the objects' right choice. Imho t is not a videogame product that is good for everyone but it has a specific target audience. Rpg ( boardgames ) and videogames' players. Obviously the game mechanics will become a bit repetitive with the time passing. But this happens for all games and for all games' kinds ( boardgames, videogames ... )- For the players this game is almost a paradise imho. The scheme of the adventures reminiscent of the old D&D modules but also reminds me a lot the never-forgotten HeroQuest ( without the exploration part unfortunately ). If he had co-op option would be perfect. But with these grat artworks ( I refer especially to the paper figures because I am a fanatic collector of them but this is also true for all other game components ) I dream of adigital P&P edition and a physical one about game. With expansions that later are periodically released, and tadd new characters, objects, cards, gameboards tiles ...

I've been having some late-night fun with it, when I just want to crash in bed with my laptop before sleep. I love the figures, and the tiles, and am also enjoying the card drawing aspect of it (which I didn't think I would). Sometimes the "luck of the draw" can be a little too random (or not random enough), as happened when I went back from level seven dungeons to level six @ the end of the night and wiped out because I had _no_ usuable attack cards for any of my characters for a few rounds. My biggest tip for those starting out -> don't make your fighter a dwarf. Until level 5 I was continously frustrated by him, as he could only move at a walk (thus 1/2 distance), and so my tank was always in the back. My wizard did more bashing than did my fighter all through level one, too bad he didn't have the hit points to take the damage I really wish they would release a physical or printable version of it, but I can completely understand why they wouldn't want the paper to compete the computer, or for an unscrupulous competitor to copy the artwork.

This is a must read for all Card Hunter players. It explains that the 'luck' aspect of the cards isn't always 'luck'. As a Magic the Gathering player I can see what he is saying. link

Where can i find pics of front and back of the characters?? the gallery don´t have pics In the game there isn't a gallery ( there are only the figures that I put above ). Or I haven't found it. On site the gallery is empty, but in the old blog's posts and in the forum there are some figures. Or you try to find them with google images. There are also about 3/5 figures for each class/race but they are extra. ... mahotsukai: Thanks! It is a very interesting reading.
