Forgiveness in advance. Welcome. For doing card models, I am a firm believer in knocking out at least two simple models before diving into the deep end. Models will either be rectilinear or organic. Boxy or curvy. Do one of the simple buildings, like the Convenience Store or House at Canon's Craftown, creativepark.canon/en/categories/CAT-ST01-0084/index.html, and one of the one-page animals over there, creativepark.canon/en/categories/CAT-ST01-0077/index.html. Paper acts differently than other media. Learning to score straight and cut straight and curving it without creasing is important. I suggest the Canon pieces because they are free, well-designed and cute enough to keep around or easy to give away. What types of models do you like most?

Hi! Long time DM originally for 1E and 2E. Now my sons and my girlfriend and I play in a couple 5E campaign and we are getting into making cardboard buildings.
We just made our first buildings today (with no guidance, and varying levels of success) and we have a party member who is a camera man so we are looking into making our adventures into episodic shorts.
I’m really happy this is here and can’t wait to make more stuff!

Outstanding. Were your buildings scratch-built or Downloads?
And we all love photos!
Ask questions, look around, and most of all ... Have Fun!

Semi-longtime lurker and horde-nabber, just finally got signed up here! Recently been trying my hand at creating some of my own minis in AI, hopefully will have something decent to upload here in the near future!

I'm a big fan of the multi-figure hoards in general, but I really like them all - figures, because they provide quick additions to my gaming supplies surplus, and everything else, because who doesn't like adding more projects to their backlog? XD
I may be able to post some oldish stuff I did in a bit, but I'm just about to head off to lunch with the wife, currently~

Here's some I made more than a year ago - I need to fix them in more ways than one, but I was just psyched to actually have them. They are from an OLD psx game called 'King's Field'. EDIT: well, crap - they don't show up unless clicked on... On that note, does anyone know an easily-accessible picture hosting site..? ~_~ EDIT2: nevermind, I figured out an alternative!

Hey all! I’m Rob, I suppose I’m an artist (still sounds weird). Just found the forum, and I’m very excited to find a big community for paper gaming! I make paper miniatures and a few 3D papercraft items for tabletop wargaming and RPGs. I haven’t played much (if at all) since I was a teenager playing WHFB with my brother (had small and terribly painted Dark Elves army). Painted some 40k figs in college, but only played a few solo games in a home brew RPG style. Now I’m getting into wargaming with The 9th Age: Fantasy Battles by making Quickstarter armies in paper. My Minis are available at Patreon.com/rhworldbuilding Pics on Instagram RHWorldbuildingI’ll post pictures and descriptions here somewhere when I figure the place out.

Miniature wargaming background and interest. Tired of buying expensive miniatures, priming, painting, basing, etc. As much as I enjoy the look of a nice army, I would rather just play some games. Won't stop doing full blown miniatures, just need an alternative.

I hear you there. What game are you currently playing?

Post by kazimierz on Mar 9, 2020 10:38:13 GMT -9
Current games include: Malifaux
Wild West Exodus
Bushido
Starting Parabellum's Conquest
Various historical
Will be playing Starbreach with old 40k figures
Starting Napoleonic (have some 1:72 primed and looking at other options. Probably have 5 or 6 rulesets...)
Want some smaller scale Fantasy (Lords and Lands rules coming, and a couple others)
Probably going to play Mythos by Warcradle
I have a problem...

Wow! I'd have trouble keeping all the rulesets straight

Uh, yeah... I do, too. Usually review rules in the day or two before a game.
I really want paper figs for trying out some fantasy battle rules.

You have come to the right place, then. Check out the One Monk Downloads link above. Search is also up there. I really think the 'search' function here is about as good as I have seen

Hi fellow cardboard warriors! I came here through the one page rules discord server I recently got back in the wargaming hobby with the great Grimdark Future ruleset and discorvered paper minis to be even more fun than standard plastic warriors

lordsnake, this "world" can be anything you like. Do you war game or role play? Fantasy or Sci-F? Contemporary? Alternate History? Tell us what you like and we can probably point you to a thread where people talked about that stuff and made some paper assets for it. Edit: I have now seen your other post. Since you are interested in horror one thing you should not overlook is the annual Halloween Hoards. Click on "Downloads" in the bar at the top of this page and you can look through all the Hoards. Pay special attention to the Octobers. Sci Fi is ubiquitous. Lots of Trek stuff here lately. Lots of other stuff too. "Search" is your friend.

The Hoards are collections of treasure and useful items. Each month we have a theme to spark ideas for designers to hone and display their skills, and hopefully fill voids in material that is already available. You can access the Hoards at cardboard-warriors.proboards.com/board/41/free-monthly-figure-hoardIn the One Monk Downloads, onemonk.com/downloads.html , At the top left are the past Hoards. Also take a look at all the other treasures there. Even though we have a theme each month, off-theme items can also be submitted.
