I'm an oldie returning after so long I completely forgot my old username and password. It's good to see some familiar names and faces. I'm a technical writer by trade, and a 3D modeler by hobby. The 3D modeling actually got its roots in papercraft. I've designed a couple of models in Illustrator, and now I work with Fusion 360 quite a bit. My next challenge is figuring out how to take a 3D model in Fusion and turn it into a papercraft model. I'm open to suggestions. Download Metasequoia and Pepakura. Pepakura is an unfolding layout program for papermodels, I find that sometimes the models I craft in 3d don't import correctly in Pepakura so I look at them in Metasequoia first and fix any faces that have been inverted or are missing for whatever reason. then send the .mqo file to Pepakura to unfold and layout.

I took a look at metasequoia many moons ago. I never could figure it out. Since then I've gotten to be a fair hand with Fusion 360 and can fumble my way through Blender. Is Metasequioa free?

Metasequoia has a free version, but it's kinda crippled compared to the full meal deal. It might be better to stick with Blender instead--it's free, a lot more powerful, there's practically an add-on for everything you can imagine, and there's heaps of tutorials and Youtube video content out there for it.
I only really got into Metasequoia 20 years ago because Blender was awful and opaque back then, and Metasequoia was cheap as chips. Nowadays, I vastly prefer Blender and am more productive in it.

Hi! Welcome to the Cardboard Warriors forum. We are always happy to hear from new members so step right and tell us about yourself. I'm a long time gamer, old as carp, and a big cardcraft fan. Got into it when I stumbled into miniatures around 2016 with Frostgrave. FG, SG, Last Days, Oathmark and Battletech.
