I decided to run a practice combat using Savage Worlds in order to better know the system for when I run Achtung! Cthulhu in the near future. I decided to pit a group of German soldiers against a mythos beastie. It was going to be a Dark Young until I realised that they're immune to small arms and explosive attacks I opted instead for a Cthonian. So I needed some German soldier minis. About, oooooh twelve years ago now I made some paper minis for a session of Adventure! I was running. The usual pulp fayre. I managed to track them down on a very old backup CD and dug them out. They were actually, surprisingly quite good but a little too detailed, so I decided to redo them. I made them in to a sheet and thought I'd share. If I do any more, I'll bung them in this thread. The sheet consists of two officers a whole mess of soldiers (a Heer?) with MP40s and several Z-Ray Rifle soldiers based on the flame thrower troops in Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. The idea being that they had new experimental energy weapons (Z-Ray Rifles) instead of flame throwers. Now I'm off to make a Cthonian. Enjoy, Crow

Who didn't ever put some Nazis on the table for the heroes to defeat? A welcome contribution!
I wish they had backs, tough.

I know, I know. See to me, they do have a back. It's the edge opposite the gun

Here's the Cthonian. Big son of a lovely! The book has an adult at 15' To me they were always MUCH bigger. This 'un's about 15' just sticking out of the ground! Their boss, Shudde M'ell would still dwarf them at a mile long!. Enjoy, Crow

I really like the art style of these! I'm looking forward to more! But like hackbarth said, I wish they had backs!

Great Nazis Scarecrow. More dynamic/ combat poses would be nice though, especially for guys with schmeissers. They look a bit like execution squad now. Those Z-ray guys look really great, like chem-troops prepared to fight some really nasty bugs... (although being a Pole, more grim uses come to mind also - brennkomandos obviously etc.) Great chtonian too. I wonder how big would be Shudde M'ell made to scale, paper could be to weak material to make him.

Yeah, they are kind of static, now that you mention it. I have to do a load with GEW 98 rifles (and maybe a couple with Panzerfausts). Maybe I'll jazz 'em up a bit I've got to correct the uniform colour too. Crow

I forgot to post this here. I made a couple of Kubelwagens to go with them. Well, I say 'made', I bought Paper Tiger Armaments Kubelwagen model, scaled it properly*, then re-scaled it, slightly re-modelled it and completely re-textured it. And, yes that is Hydra's logo on the side. I thought it made a cracking symbol for the Nazi's dark, Cthonian investigation division - better than the actual Achtung! Cthulhu logo anyway. Crow *It comes at 96 dpi for some reason and needs to be adjusted to print at the right scale. I guess if you're just printing it out using a photo viewer or something it might work properly. Anyway, I prefer 300dpi so I adjusted it.

Those are pretty sweet. Now if we can only talk GM64 to do a few WWII cars to add to his vintage collection...
