Anybody else as impressed by Monte Cook's latest science-fantasy RPG (released Aug 14)? My attention was first drawn to it because Fat Dragon Games have simultaneously released an accompanying set of paper terrain for it, although, even based on my limited reading in the rulebook so far (it is 400+ pages long!), it's not really the archetypal kind of RPG that benefits too strongly from miniatures and miniature terrain/floorplans, being heavily story-based. It is hugely inventive from what I've seen thus far though, and I'd think there are people frequenting the CWF who would find the game equally interesting/enjoyable too. (Maybe even to the point of creating some paper minis for it? ) I don't normally do impulse buys (lack of spare funds generally...), but I was very taken with the comments online (it already has 12 reviews on the One Book Shelf - RPGNow/DriveThruRPG - site), as well as the publicity notes and description, so I succumbed unusually quickly. Plus I was ever a sucker for a pretty map, and the poster-sized one you get with the PDF rules is a stunner! The Fat Dragon terrain pack can be found at: rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/117549/Numenera-Core-Building-Setand the main Numenera rulebook is available via: rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/114133/Numeneraon the DriveThru site.

Being a long time Monte Cook fan I was looking at it and when I was pricing new paints from reaper I saw that they are doing Numenera minis.
