Here is what I am currently working on: Jungle Fighters. I usually draw minis with a pencil then color them on the computer. This is my first time drawing something with my tablet. I'm pretty happy with the results. Thoughts? Suggestions? Accessory or weapon requests? Ryan

I really like these guys, but Knife Guy has the biggest elbows I have ever seen. Tweaking the shape of the elbow to be more like Gas Mask guy or the Pistoleer should fix it. Bringing the crease slightly further over between the forearm and upper arm would help, also. These guys are very good. At arm's length on the table, it probably wouldn't stand out as much as in an enlarged image. Will there be more of these? Come and get it, Mr. Predator. We are ready for you.

Thanks for the tip. I'll adjust the elbow.
For this set, I made all the pieces modular. So different options and details can be turned on and off to make different characters. All the colors are also on separate layers so I can use color overlays to adjust things like uniform, skin or hair color easily. This preview shows some of the minis that are possible with what I've currently made. There is also an ammo belt accessory that I forgot to show.
Right now there are 4 unique heads. I'll probably aim for 8 in the finished set.

I'd enhance the contrast between shadows/mid-lights/highlights (well, right now there's only shadows.... some highlight on the skin and on the weapons could be nice) Nice figures. Make them reach the chopper

Thanks Parduz. Unfortunately, it looks like this project might never see the light of day. I came home from work today to a dead laptop. It seems to turn on but the screen just stays black. I'm hoping the monitor is just dead and the hard drive isn't fried but I don't have much hope. I'll try taking it in tomorrow and maybe something can be recovered.

I just had the strangest technical support call.
I live in Japan, so my wife found an English computer repair company online. The address wasn't listed so I called the 24/7 support hotline thinking they would speak English since the website is in English. A woman answers and quickly says "sorry no English. I then ask if anyone speaks English and she says "pardon" in a French accent "no one here English." I speak French too so recognizing her French accent I said "wait a minute, you speak French?" Long story short, we spoke in French for 10 minutes and someone from the branch in my city is going to call me back tomorrow. Mind blown.
Just thought I'd share.

Good minis, I love them. I'd like to see a full set because it has a good proposal. It would be great to see something similar to the Terra Force of Onemonk with heavy weapons, auxiliaries ...

These would make great insurgents, or guerillas, or special ops, fingers crossed for your laptops recovery.

I brought my computer into the repairshop. They said the hard disk is fried. There was a typhoon in my city yesterday, so my computer must have suffered a power surge while I was at work = \ They say it will cost more than twice as much as what I paid for the laptop when it was new, just to get the data.

Ryan That's awful! I hope you've at least got the majority of your stuff backed up, even if not the most recent creations. Do you have enough to move forward with this project, once you've had a chance to recover yourself?

I backed up most of my files in July. So if I can't recover anything then I just lose everything from August. Paper-figure-wise, that mostly means these guys and the Urban Fantasy stuff that's not online. I'm going to try taking my laptop apart when I get home tonight.

Yay! I took my laptop apart, removed the hard drive and bought a $20 hard drive to USB adapter and was able to recover everything! If anyone's computer ever dies, I recommend trying to recover the data yourself. It will probably save you at least a few hundred dollars!

My husband's a computer technician, and has been able to restore many things himself, so we've been lucky. However, I am going to back up my laptop right this second just in case ;D

Glad to hear that! But now i'm skeptic about the diagnosis. A broken HD is a broken HD. You may be able to make it runs for short time, perhaps putting it in the fridge before, or just by luck but, in the end, it will be broken. So, unless you avoid to mention that it was extremly slow, or chattering, or you miss part of the data, i'd say that make a disk working again by just changing the power supply and the data bus is a symptom that one of that two things is'nt working good on your PC....

Yeah I think his diagnosis was wrong. He thought the hard drive was dead because the hard drive light didn't turn on when I tried it in the shop. After he told me how much it cost just to get the data off, I decided to try myself. When I took the laptop apart I discovered that there was a problem with the power button and screen. Basically a wire was worn through, so the power button worked but the laptop always thought the lid was closed so it was stuck in sleep mode. The hard drive ended up being fine. My laptop is old so it's not worth repairing and I'm not knowledgable enough to do it myself. Apparently I can buy a hard case for my hard drive though for $10 and basically turn it into a 320 gig external hard drive. It's a downgrade, but it is kind of nice that something can be salvaged!
WackyAnne, and everyone else, I definitely recommend backing up your files! I think I'm going to try setting up cloud storage this weekend.

Good to hear you were able to recover everything. Backups are good idea. I use a portable hard drive and lots of flash sticks. Info is precious!

Hi, Just wondering on the progress of the Jungle Fighters? I could use some them for the free game "Get to the Chopper" with the Alien Hunters.
Much appreciation.

Jeff Hey Jeff, I just took a look, and most of the backs are done. Mainly, just the heads look like they are missing backs. When do you need them by? I have some free time during winter vacation, so maybe I can finish it for you. I'm thinking about releasing the PSD file so people can mod it easily. Could you use that? Ryan
