The past several months have been pretty busy at DARKMOOK HQ preparing for the release of physical copies of the SURVIVAL HORROR TABLETOP GAME and the new ZOMBIE FIGHTER game. Final set component breakdowns and peripheries along with mock-ups of the final sets have been sent to the printers, and production will begin inearnest soon. It has been a long time for pre-production, and we have high hopes that the physical copies will be as popular as the downloads! Both sets are launching at Thought Bubble 2013 in Leeds, UK, 23 and 24 November thoughtbubblefestival.com/ We have also been working on some 'dungeon' tiles-basic bare bones corridor sections and rooms, with some door designs, to make up a game board ready to populate with your own scenery etc and not tied to any particular rule system. We are aiming to put these out at a relatively low price point and are working to sort out the final few details...
Hi Rhannon! Fear not, your group of survivors is slowly growing (3 at present) but was sadly delayed in their travels due to my back issues! The bio-panzer, the Horror Hospital Expansion, and the "Merc" are all still on course, but we are looking at a December release I imagine due to preperation for the Thought Bubble convention. For the dungeon tiles, the first set will be in a generic 'bunker' style-stone floor, concrete style walls, with modern and fantasy doors so you can pick how to style it! For future releases I was thinking a kind of haunted house theme, steampunk, and perhaps an apartment block for my Future Cops to patrol...
So the game components arrived for the DARKMOOK PAPER MINIATURES launch at Thought Bubble 2013. It has been a loooong 3 days of packaging, cd burning, sticker applying and cutting and sticking, with another 4 days to go! It should be well worth it in the end. Independant game companies don’t get much more small press than this! (If you are in Leeds UK 23rd and 24th November 2013, come and visit us at the Royal Armouries New Dock Hall table 135!) The SURVIVAL HORROR TABLETOP GAME set contains all the miniatures and bases and a full colour rulebook, as well as a cd with all the printed material and extra component files. The ZOMBIE FIGHTER set contains all the miniatures and bases,a full colour rulebook, playing tokens and high quality paper map board as well as a cd with all the printed material. They are priced at £12 and £10 respectively, or can be purchsed as a pair for £20 (plus p&p!) Once again for some reason I can't upload images (think it may be a browser issue) but images can be seen over at the DARKMOOK blog or FACEBOOK pages: darkmook.blogspot.co.uk/ www.facebook.com/DarkmookPaperMiniatures

Hey Parduz! No plans to at the moment. The changes are mainly to the look of the rulebook (and amendments from the FAQ) and the removal of the coloured door standees in favour of 'Unlocked' markers (which can be downlowded her darkmook.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/unlocked-door-tokens-for-survival.html ) Otherwise the content is the same, but with a printed rulebook, printed minis and a cd of all the files
Hey folks! Well, the con went well (you can check out the Darkmook blog or Facebook page for photos!)and the response to the physical copies of the games was extremely positive! In other news, I have added a shop section to the Darkmook blog, which means that you can order directly through me if you so desire! We still need to sort out a storefront interface, so at the moment it is a case of sending your order, making the payment and then receiving the file transfer-not exactly instantaneous, so do bear with us! Check it out at:
So it's that time of year again, and as I have a new digital art set up I thought I would take the opportunity to rustle up this year's DARKMOOK Christmas Freebie, a rather ill mannered young lady with a love of mechanised infantry...
I plan on packaging her with two weapon sets, and cards and bases for both ZOMBIE FIGHTER and SURVIVAL HORROR TABLETOP GAME. She should be available on RPGNow and direct from my DARKMOOK blog-details to follow!
Hey folks, just a quick note to let you know that we are now on twitter @darkmookminis so come follow us and check out teh Darkmook musings! We also played some demo games with Ed from Starburst Magazine yesterday, so hopefully there should be reviews in print soon! Cheers, A
cowboyleland: Now I have seen it. It doesn't advance our hobby, but anyone with half a brain who wanted 2nd rate figures could easily figure this out for themselves so I guess he isn't doing any harm.

berneart76: well, this is fun, (not) transferring all my papercrafting sets into the cloud. The stuff I got from DriveTrhruRPG was simple with their library desktop app,but my other stuff, sometimes with multiple duplicate copies is entertaining.

berneart76: Vermin King I usually use a mix of drybrush/watercolor/photocopy and occasionally posterizing at different levels of opacity.

berneart76: Vermin King, that's similar to the enhancing that I do on my texturing. I've found that sometimes I need to scale up or scale down the image (usually by 50 or 25 percent down or 200 or 300 percent up) to make get the enhancements to look "right"

Vermin King: On the zebras, I did multiple enhancements and cartoon filters and used them at 100%, and they still didn't look that different than the photos
Feb 26, 2019 12:27:26 GMT -9
Vermin King: When I make a figure or terrain piece based on a photo, I clean it up and align things to look 'right', then I create another layer and do enhancing and cartoonizing on it. I then adjust opacity over the photo image until it looks good. On the zebras,

Vermin King: berneart76, do you mean giving them green or purple manes and tails? and a few piercings? maybe a cig hanging out of their mouths?
Feb 26, 2019 12:24:18 GMT -9
Vermin King: cartoonizing a zebra doesn't do much

Vermin King: And due to the snow, I'm off tonight. I am going to miss the cash on the paycheck, but I'm glad they want their employees to be safe

ignatious: Actually I was referring to the two previous posts. I was trying to be subtle in order to sublimate the crassness. Read them again, but in Mel Brooks voice while he is winking, and nudging the person to his right.

Vermin King: Sure. Euphemize us
Feb 8, 2019 18:40:48 GMT -9
ignatious: would anyone care for a euphemism?

cowboyleland: We hadn't had snow for a few days. Last night the plow came down my street and did nothing but fill every ones driveways back in. Just for practice, I guess.

Vermin King: In KC we had an ice storm (with thunder sleet) the other night. Left things drivable, but last night the plow came down my street. They took all the rough edges off. Might as well have ran a Zamboni...
