I never made a cardboard miniature, so this is my first attempt after reading the forum a bit. I took a drawing I made some time ago (you can find it here) and I edited it to make the rear of the mini. This is the result: I guess it has to be resized to fit a 28mm scale. Any comment or suggestion would be much appreciated

Well, given the final dimentions on paper, i'd enhance the color of the weapon to stand-up againt the hairs. Also that leg (was it bionic?) need something to bring out the details. Last, i'd choose only one color for the contour: pick the one you like more (white or black - each forum member have his own preference about this) and just use it. As it is right now, it is both an hassle to cut out all the black if i want it white, or to color the white part if i want it black

Nemo: Welcome on board! Nice looking mini. I agree with Parduz re the weapon and right leg colouring needing a little tweaking. Also the back view of the right hand doen't look quite right; maybe it's just me, but the wrist looks a little too narrow for the fingers, making the fourth finger look a little "detached". Parduz: Unless you treat the white as a form-fitting force field

Welcome Nemo! The figure looks terrific, and needs only a little tweaking to repurpose it as a miniature.
I respect what you are trying to do with the dual outlines. While black is the preferred outline here, you don't want the darker details of her hair, weapon, and leg to get lost in that outline. Perhaps a fine-line just at those transitions to make the darker parts of the body stand out?
With regards to the figure itself, I would only look at enhancing the front detail on the bionic leg a little, and revisiting the rear view. I sense that you are trying to bring out the equivalent of the the thigh muscle on the front, but it shouldn't be emphasized the same way on the rear, I don't think.
I wouldn't worry about the hand that wyvern mentions, nothing stands out to me, and really at that scale it wouldn't anyway.
Might I recommend scaling her to 28 mm @ eyeline? Making her 30mm scale (30 mm for male eyeline standard). One Monk scale actually reach 32mm or even 35mm, which can be a little big, but 30mm at eyeline scale is enough of a boost that you can properly get a sense of detail and the necessary presence on the table.
Anyway, lovely work to begin with! Looking forward to more...

Thanks to both of you for your comments and for your welcome I hope I got right what Wyvern meant about the right hand and I tried to make more evident the rifle and the metal on the right leg. I thought I preferred a black contour, but after trying out with a white one, it seems I like it better. What do you think? [EDIT] Thanks, WackyAnne I'll try to follow your recommendations as soon as I can

Ok, much better. On a second look i noticed that you just "mirrored" the dress in the back side.... i think that his ... bottom should fill the dress, and so we should not see the foldings but some more round shapes

Very Nice Nemo Congrats on your first Mini! I am curious though what you prefer to draw more, Sci Fi, or Fantasy?

I was focusing more on the good job he did with the back of the knee and the feet, I didn't think to check out her *ss

Thanks to all I revised the rear, trying what Parduz and WackyAnn said (about the leg and lower back). I tried also using the black outline with a thin line where needed to avoid letting details go lost in the black, but the result was unsatisfactory to me, so I went back to the white outline. pavaro: for now, just Photoshop. endial: thanks. I personally prefer sci-fi, but I usually need to draw fantasy, because of my gaming group's preferences. Lately I had to draw some standees (I don't know if it's the right word), but they need to be tweaked to be made proper cardboard minis. cowboyleland: don't fight it, let it flow

Back on topic: the figure looks good Nemo.

LOL Seems right to me also, Nemo

Yes, looking good now Nemo. On reflection, and looking at the more recent versions, I think what was catching my eye on that rear right hand was actually the shadow on the wrist and lower arm there making it look thinner than it really was. The front-view images in your reply to Endial look equally good on the fantasy side.
