The theme for this months HOARD is Accessories! This can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of December. Accessories? Yes, Accessories! All those bits and bobs you find in dungeons, mad scientists lairs, spaceships, alien worlds - chairs, tables, chests, consoles, gravitic flying disks, wardrobes, rugs, cryo chambers, even rudimentary lathes! What have your adventure scenes been missing? Accessories!

I've got an idea for a second submission. Okay if I put a second one together?

So I might shrink the barrel down a tiny bit, nothing major about 5%. But otherwise I'm happy with it, little fiddly to build but it's different to other designs available . The other bits that go with a barrel: Back row Left to Right - Barrel Stand, Stock Barrel, Barrel with food or empty (just leave cap off) Front Row Left Right - Barrel Chair, Barrel Table, Barrel Chair Textures are done on the standard barrel and the Chair and Table, Still to texture Food Cap(s) and Barrel stand

Sirrob01 - please consider an alternative texture or two for the barrel table - as basket (fruit, flower, coal, etc.) I have some metal minis like this, but paper ones would be more flexible! Look in the cart: Winterhaven by Oracle Omega, on Flickr

Sure I'll see if I can dig up a wicker basket type texture and make it work

I figure I'd put something in the Hoard this month, a page of Imperfect Tavern Props, one page with two bars and two back-bars for setting up a small tavern. I haven't taken any pictures, but here is the link: Imperfect Tavern PropsEnjoy, I have many other Imperfect Props in the pipeline. Dryw the Harper

To complete a small Imperfect Tavern, here are two tables and four benches on a single sheet: Tavern Tables and BenchesEnjoy, Dryw the Harper P.S. As a side note, I usually fill these props about half way with uncooked rice before gluing the final end. It gives them bulk when on the table and rice is fairly cheap.

Thanks Dryw. I'll have my entry posted tomorrow, it'll have nothing to do with taverns, chests, and barrels though.

My entry, just a simple thingy, a little gravity platform to dodge around on. This is from my continuing education in vector art with Canvas. The platforms supports are printed on transparencies, if you use a robo-cutter you can skip the printing and just cut it out.

The platforms supports are printed on transparencies... When I first saw the photo, I thought for just a moment you'd found a way to REALLY make paper minis float in mid air! Actually, that might be an interesting idea to add to this hoard - a printable set of "flying" transparency platforms for other minis to be set upon, in a selection of standard base sizes, perhaps?

Not a bad idea. I'll see if I can get a series of blanks knocked out for the different sizes; 15, 20,25, 30, 40, 50, and 25x50 pill for mounts.

Now with Creative commons Video/holo screen Art! (attributions are on the images themselves) I will work on greebling the frames some more and I will see if I can find some alternate screen art (maybe public domain?). Just to check, there is no problem with using properly attributed CC art, is there?

Here is new version, retextured, rescaled, and with a streetlight option as well as some alternate screens. I haven't printed it on transparency yet to see if the hex effect on the screen reads well on the table. If someone can think of a way to make the screens easily swappable I would love to hear it. Hey everybody! It has been a while since I participated in the forums and in the hoards... I am sending my contribution: a simple modular factory system. There are three types of modules: the treadmill ends, treadmill connectors and workstations. With the attached PDF, it is possible to make something like: treadmill end -> workstation -> treadmill connector -> workstation -> treadmill end. By printing more than one page it would be possible to have other configurations too. The pieces are 25mm wide. The treadmills are 20mm tall, and the workstations are 40mm tall. I did a quick and dirty build to be sure that the pieces built correctly and that the colors were not too dark. That is it... and a Happy New Year to everybody! Attachments:factory.pdf (847.48 KB)

Here we go, my first, quick, experiment ... I was a little rough, on her, during construction, but, apart from the right of her face, she stood up to it well - lessons learned ... Different lights, arrangements - any questions please ask Over at the blog, the images are higher resolution. colshofer.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/more-transparency-experiments.htmlNice work, zyggy, keep it coming CS p.s. I like a choice of grey, on my street furniture, BTW

Thanks for taking on the transparency build, I am too cheap to buy sheets for one experiment Any comments on how it looks in person? Would the hexes be better at a different size? Maybe thicker lines? Or, on the flipside, is it just adding fiddly bits to cut out without adding any real visual interest? I will reflow the text to avoid the frames when I have a little time (I hope it gets in before the official cutoff). Also, I noticed your prints of the frames came out much greener (and less grey) than mine. Is this just a printing issue, or is it likely to be due to some setting in my original document? I think a few different textures/colors will be a good idea in any case. Thanks again for the test build.

Pleasure Looks much like the pics, depends on the light. Hexes seem fine to me - did not trim the outside edges, a lot of careful work, for little gain. It would be nice to see the effect, with darker lines separating the hexes (without obscuring the images, of course). Yes, they are the 'correct' colour. I am a master of my cyan-balancing, when printing - you can see the greys, in the base, the tile, the back tiles etc are all shades of grey, whereas yours are the colour you see, on the same settings (unless I made a real boo-boo, which is not likely) - it is that turquoise . For the image, I think the more colours, contrast and complexity, as in the one I chose, the better the effect is. Plain clear is not good (although it may be with darker hex lines). Look forward to what else you let us have Cheers. CS.

Little help requested; I'm trying to finish up this Horde and the Eddnic-accessories file cut a little funny. Can someone with an automated cutter give this file a try and make sure it works? It might have just been environmental factors on my end that caused the slightly off-cuts but I'd like a second opinion. Thanks. Eddnic-accessories-test
