But it looks much nicer. Can't, SJGames foruns doesn't allow images in posts. I can put a link to the URL of the image instead of a link to the actual file. But that would complicate things, since I would also put a link to the actual file or page where it would be found.

First, I have to thank Christopher for his generosity. His are the best vehicle models out there, the right amount of complexity to visual effect on the table, easy to make and great to see. I only miss the option to link to each individual model. When each model had it's own page I could recommend them for each necessity, such as this case, when I made a list of models that could be used for Gurps Reign of Steel: forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=1710031Oh. I didn't think of that. My rationale was that when selling stuff, it's important to have a detailed page full of important selling points/product information for potential buyers so they can decide if something's worth buying, but it's not as important for free stuff. So my concern when setting up the archive was to find a way to get a lot of free downloads up quickly with minimal time/effort on my part. I guess I could do some kind of share button that outputs BBCode or something when I have a chance, but in the meantime you could point people at the relevant archive page and paste the direct download link into your post, or do something similar to what Parduz suggested.

You invested more than simply the geometry and textures in each model. I remember that these models had a cohesive fictional universe and design based in engineering and fictional constraints. I did find value in those things, they where sometimes a paragraph or simply a line of fiction but they put the model in context.
Like this one:
It was the little details.

Heh, I forgot about those descriptions. The sillier ones tended to be for models that I didn't really have a solid backstory in mind for. Like, sometimes I'll have this idea for a model, and it looks cool in my head, but when I get to the "Well, here's an empty input box for the product description, and I probably shouldn't paste 3 paragraphs of Ipsum Lorem in there" part, I space out and start channeling my inner Robin Williams. Basically, I usually paid a lot more attention to the "how does it work?" bit than I did to the "What kind of world does this exist in?" bit. Every once in a while I try to be a little more serious about the worldbuilding aspect, but for the most part it's a "This thing looks cool in my head, so let's figure out how it would work, and then make a paper toy out of it" process.
