I was inspired by this character today. My wife said he looked like a prisoner that just escaped from a jail. She inspired his backstory. It is up to the heroes to return him to the prison. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk He reminds me of the iconic wizard, Ezren, from Pathfinder: channeling some of Khan's wrath: I like him a lot

I *had* to. His chest is horrifically scarred, and it helps to not only protect him, but keep him alive.

Yes, and I will be looking more at them the next few days. In the meantime, we had a pretty bad storm tonight, and my wife wouldn't let me sleep. So, since I was up, I thought I would play with MORDECHAI's card. Ignore the colored icons and numbers. This is just a WIP.

dungeonmistress did the background of the tiles for me, and I have some sorting to do with them. I also need to work on some various elements, but here is an example of room... say a Summoning Chamber where you may encounter a large beast. Any thoughts?

I like Mordechai. Lots of movement and menace. He looks really surely, too! Just great!
Would the beast come climbing out of the chasm? If that's to be a summoning chamber, wouldn't you need a magic circle or an altar of sorts?

Whatever room Mordechai is in is a summoning chamber!

Anyone remember MELCIOR THE FALLEN from the Quest Sets? He's coming back as a hand-drawn figure. MELCIOR was an angel of death, called a "Collector," for centuries. He was assigned to "collect" the soul of a young lady named FAITH. He saw her and fell in love with her. He refused to "collect" her soul. This angered the powers that be, and they cast him out. No longer an immortal angel, and not quite human, he knew that FAITH would never be able to love him in return. He turned to seek powerful weapons, such as SOULBRAND to maintain his new fragile form. Although he considers himself "weak" compared to his angelic form, he is still a force to be reckoned with, if you try to come between him and his possessions. I know that this project has taken MONTHS to come together, but I feel the results are going to be worth it.

I completed a few figures today, so I only need a few more to finish out the set. After that, I can edit the map tiles and start the rules and tokens... I am loving this set, but the work and time that has gone into this is exhausting. Here are a couple previews: This is BLAKE STARGAZER. I took my favorite RPG character and converted him into a fantasy mage. This is the colored version of AVALON... my favorite NPC of all times. When I created these characters (some were about 20 years ago), I never thought I would be releasing them in a set for a hit game I created. This set is very exciting to me on a personal level. I want to thank you all in advance for your support of this project. The fact that you have shown such enthusiasm over this set means the world to me.

Wow, kiladecus, Your figures all look phenomenal! i can't wait to see how this all comes together. I agree. Dave, these your figures are at the quality top now. Now our artistic skilfulness has nothing to enviable to other authors, imho. You have your own style, and it produces excellent paper minis. I can't wait ( and finally again I'm saying so often in this forum )

Well, progress is coming along slowly, but slowly... but at least it is progressing. I started drawing this fellow as a human fighter, but decided if I widened it a bit, he'd make a great dwarf! Just two figures remaining...

Well, part of the fun of this set is not only creating top-quality figures, but also sharing some of my personal characters from my RPG games. One of which was a specter that I ran in a Ravenloft setting. Can you guess what this character's name? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Attachments:

Well, after much deliberating, I decided on my final hero for the set... VAX MERCER. Mercer was an elven thief that had the skills of an assassin. He could move silently and all but disappear in broad daylight. He worked on both sides of the fence, and would turn on the party at the drop of a hat. His nemesis was a dark elf named HUNTER SKYLOW. Both men were raised as brothers by a blind human named Dana Hysell. He taught them to use all of their senses, not just sight. As a result, Hysell told them that the real test was to move past him undetected. As they grew, jealousy caused an animosity between them, and their rivalry exploded. After the mysterious death of Hysell, they both blamed the other for not being there to protect their "father." Skylow became an assassin that worked for the highest bidder. he thought that if he worked for the villainy that could pay his fees, the maybe he could find his father's killer. Mercer became a soldier-for-hire, and used his skills with knives, knife-throwing, and eventually spears to collect a healthy income. He preferred being a bodyguard to being an enforcer. When he refused to follow orders that could harm innocent people, he was black-listed, and had a bounty placed on his head. He decided that he could acquire objects in temples and tombs to maintain the lavish lifestyle he had become accustomed to. He could collect the rare items and sell them to the highest bidder. Fleeing the authorities, and avoiding his estranged brother, he often will act as a guide to help would-be heroes explore catacombs, caverns and dungeons. Here is Vax Mercer's line art... I really like the elven thief, but I would try to make the left thigh a bit longer. It seems considerably shorter than the right one.
I hope I'm not too late.

The length of the thigh looks as though it is shortened by perspective, but the grid design makes it look flat. If you narrow the grid towards the knee it should help.

To be that way, it means the leg should be very extended towards behind, enough to make the upper body lean ahead considerably. But he elf's torso here seems to be almost perpendicular to the ground, so the left thigh it's too short even considered the perspective

Imagine me making a figure with the legs too short....(rolls eyes) Yes, I was thinking that same thing yesterday. I even posed in front of a mirror to double-check it, and that was when I discovered that. I will fix it today before doing the back. I originally was going to have him in more of a running pose, but I couldn't get it to look right, and I never corrected that leg. Shouldn't be too difficult... Finding time to fit everything in is the difficult part. Thanks for the input.
