Dangit! I'm really going to miss his humor and genius. There have been a number of posts on his models and 2d wargaming pieces. You can still access his site at www.zioprudenzio.it/fokker.html

Thank you for sharing, Vermin King. I'd seen his architecture models, the castle and village house, before, but hadn't realized until today that he'd also made paper minis for war-games - almost 25 years ago!

Trains, 2D and 3D soldiers, cars, ships, and of course, all those aircraft. When I was needing to do a couple aircraft for my mom and aunt in remembrance of their uncle, I used his Curtis P-40 for the base, but had to do some Gimp-work on it. I had trouble with keeping things aligned, and someone suggested I start with some of his earlier models at web.archive.org/web/20060823064629/http://digilander.libero.it/zioprudenzio/fokker.htmlThe Fokker DR-1 from that last site is the first airplane that I built that didn't look like it survived a storm

One of his friends posted it at papermodelers.com. I was wondering about him since his last update last March. It reminded me of Chip at FiddlersGreen before he passed. Huge flurry of activity, putting the house in order and then silence. Chip's son Scott took over the reins at FG, but I don't know if anyone will for Zio's site. My plans changed yesterday. I went thru the site and downloaded every stinking solitary model there, then went and did some web-foo and found several models that I didn't know were out there. Right now I'm trying to figure which of his models to do as a sort of remembrance.
Would anyone else be interested in doing a thread of Zio models?

Oh that's sad, his models are amazingly inspired pieces of work. I was only on his website a day or two ago and I didn't know.

When I finish my current project I'm going to do 'le marquis de palmaro' medieval knight. As part of his sense of humor, he stuck his own bearded face on that one. I'm leaning towards displaying it on Mauther's Medieval Stand for the display

It's always sad when a member of the hobby passes away.
I still have his castle that I plan to build in 28mm scale one of these days...

The Castle is La Rocca di Calenzano, according to his OLD website, which would go along with his Calenzano wargame. I would think that if you printed it at 2 pages per page, it would come out pretty close. It is a handsome structure.

My tribute to Zio is taking longer than I thought, but le Marquis de Palmaro is looking good so far. I'm working top down, but from this point it should go faster. That helmet in the first photo is two pieces. The decorations on it in the second photo consisted of seven more parts. Now that I have the most fiddly part done, it should go faster next week.

I actually have the tunic completed now. Won't have another chance to work on it until Wednesday or Thursday, when I will proceed to the arms (the appendages) and the arms (weaponry)

Taking longer than I thought. I tend to be somewhat ADHD when it comes to projects. My 'new' replacement phone doesn't take very good photos

As you said in the other thread, the smile is in the eyes. Still have to do the stand, but this weekend is devoted to doing three vehicles...

With base he stands 3 15/16 inches tall. More like the small action figures

Reivaj did a much nicer job on his than I did on mine. I'll blow the cobwebs off the poorest of the three P-40's. My Gimp-work took a lot of the wonderful textures out of it. I think I might be able to find my first Zio model, the Fokker, too.

And thank for the wellcome "builded" should be "built" "wellcome" should be "welcome" English is the most peculiar of languages... BTW (By the Way) I couldn't find/remember how to do the starting exclamation point on my mac/this forum. I should have just used "i" for the time being.
