no, the opposite in fact. I want more Splinterwoods elves. I am a bit dissapointed with all of the other troop types showing up, The Goblins, assassins, the hinted at yeti, and other beasts. I would have rather seen units that were still elves but still filled the same niche in the army. But, then again I am looking at it from a wargame point of view, not as much into the story aspect of it. I think you will enjoy the splinter section quite nicely ! any unit type your looking forward to?

Elven archers will be up this week. Archers YAY!!! I worked really hard on them you can ask squirmydad. I had some computer issues while doing them and ended up having to draw this one 3 Times and this isn't even the final product it's just a wip and I think they are some of the best work I have done in the Splinterwoods.

wildagreenbough beat me to it! The Elven archer really is beautiful, face, and lines, and colours. If only I actually got to play more, I'd use her as my PC!

I think you will enjoy the splinter section quite nicely ! any unit type your looking forward to? I would like to see more rank and file units. Maybe some Pikes? some infantry with hand weapons and shields? You have a couple of light cav units, I would live to see more Knights on war yaks, or other heavy cav units. although not very wood elfy I would like to see the equivalent of a couple of war machines, maybe a balista or something like that. mostly I want elves in an army, not a hodge podge of forest dreatures thrown together. With the gobbos, the Kl'cary and the dryads (all of which I like), for me, you are right on the line of too much "differentness." But that is just my opinion. You should design models and write stories for what ever inspires you!

cadia134 I think wood elves isn't really the army your going for then, as traditionally it's chock full of lot's of forest critters and a hoge podge of beasties. one of the reasons I started the Splinterwood elves is because... well it's because I lost a bet but still I had a choice and I went with wood elves because I could explore the woods and create all the creatures that would be in a wood elf army. also I grew up wandering the back woods of Maine so I know the woods really well. You see the problem is Wood elves aren't really an army at all. they are just a bunch of tribes and creatures just trying to get by and when something attacks their home they use what ever they have to defend themselves. They are literately one with the forest and command the creatures that live their. and in fact it is the source of their greatest strength as they can diversify like no other army. So any "Wood elf" army is going to be full of differences as you put it. though I have made foot soldiers , spear men, archers , knight and mounted knights... my guess is you didn't see the other thread where I posted all that stuff so let me take a moment to show you what coming in the next few weeks. I didn't create any war machines because wood elves don't often leave the forest so they don't need to lay siege to anyone's fortresses and they have lots of BIG nasty creatures that are capable of chucking bolder at the enemy and ripping up trees to use as a baseball bat, so their probably the only army I know of that doesn't really need war machines ... Now High elves are isolationists and that's where you will find the more traditional rank and file army squirmydad did a fantastic High elf army with dragons and war machines... all that! you can check it out here! rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/123167/Elven-Alliance-BUNDLE one of the things I know about fantasy stuff is that it's Chock full of cliche and trite concepts, things that have been done and over done, so when I make something I try to change it up a bit. I try to add something fresh like for example high elves are typically the most powerfully magic based race in any game so that's why my Kestel Varnan elves are completely non magical. they went the seam-punk rout and so it will add a quirky clock work element to the game that's not all junky, remember their elves so their clockwork stuff will be deliberate , forged and beautiful and it will keep things fresh. If you like war machines they are going to have some pretty spectacular ones. Even my dark elves are going to be loaded with different kinds of creatures, though they like their magic and their devices of war and paine so they will be more your speed I think. I just don't think your a wood elf kinda guy and that's nothing to be ashamed of! LOL

I actually make little comic clips to help keep my stories strait and one of my friends thought you would be interested in seeing them ... since none of them are finished I didn't think you guys would care, but what the heck here's a snippet of the battle between sisters. Erasabeth and Ellasaph going at it in the final moments of the Splinter wars!

well the Graphic novel will have to wait for just a smidge as there are some major players I haven't introduced yet. but hold tight and with all the sketchy bits i've done lately I may be able to throw something together. lets just say the GeeJaw (they don't call themselves that and find that name rather insulting ) they have an agenda of their own. but just in time to save the day the Splinter Knights are on their way!!

thanks for the BLog POST emergencyoverride !! that's double Awesome!! ok so a lady friend of mine has been pestering me .... no that not right she's been dogging me hounding me.... horrassing me? ... stalking .... hummm maybe stalking is a bit to much but near stalking me LOL ever since she herd the word Urok. pronouced like ooooo that's pretty and rock like well, rock oooorock, she wanted to know what could be bad @$$ enough that it could live with impunity on the northern boarders of the Splinterwoods and the combined effort of the Parduvan Dwarves and Splinterwood elves can't get rid of them. what is it that has the Kestelvarnan elves on guard daily and what kind of thing is it that could keep the Iron Rend barbarians from heading north... what is an Urok?? and why do people give them such a wide birth.... well this is an Urok. beast men consider themselves teh Splintwood elves siblings and though they have a rivalry to be sure there is also a respect on both sides. Goblins are just annoying though fairly stupid they can be dangerous in large numbers Urok aren't stupid. though their crafting is often crude compared to the elves or even humans the Urok craft for efficacy and the average Urok stands 9 and half to 10 feet tall... the really big ones are even more scary. they don't like elves , beast-men , goblins , dwarves .... anyone or anything that isn't Urok and even then they don't like each-other often. sometimes they go to war over territory and when they do Gods help whoever gets caught in between! unlike gobos or even the Splinterwood elves the Urok have a proper military with different troop choices and weapons of war like siege engines also mounted units and they will be their own army list having nothing what so ever to do with the Splinteroods. they will rank up and come in marching units and outside of the Rinox they will be the biggest scariest inhabitant of the splinterwoods. they are not Splinter kin and the Splinterwood elves fear the day they will have to drive them from the north lands.

Thanks Wild! I love his face to he's like oui! elf yous don'ts gots enough space between yous eyes ! mere and i'll fix yous good! you got to figure that ax blade is a good 4 feet long and almost that wide even getting hit with the blunt side would tear you in half! the object for Splinterwoodelves when fighting Urok will be hit them from a distance and use lots of magic.

I pull them from all over the place LOL I have hundreds of them in two folders on my desk top and when I need a texture for say leather or something I go hunting ... I find kind of what I need and then I multi-layer them and using layer edits I back them off their opacity until they look right then I hand color shadows and highlights so it looks like it's supposed to be that way.

So now that I have a new printer I have been trying to get caught up building all the stuff that I have been designing in the last few months. I am currently burried alive trying to build both Splinterwood and Core of humanity at the same time!

Aaron, you really should 'cross-market'.
At forums, put links in your signature to your deviantart pages and your stuff on OBS, and vice versa.
Just a thought
