Free Elven heroMake sure you're anti-virus is fired up and then download, scan, and report back if you spot an issue with this file. Please. I received this review today; I do not like this product, because upon attempting to unzip it, it installed malware, and changed my default browser, and reset my homepage to the homepage for Rocket Browser! It very much disinclines me to look into your products when I have to spend a chunk of my afternoon DIGGING MALWARE OUT OF MY &%$#@ COMPUTER because of them!I've scanned the source files and download versions on my end with several reliable AV programs and haven't found anything. If somebody else can take a look at this I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Well, I don't have an antivirus active (that I know of, I leave too much of that up to hubby) but I never had any trouble downloading and unzipping it either this time or originally. I strongly suspect that it was the customer's unzipping program that caused the problem. I would assume that RPGNow, etc. have anti-virus software running on their systems too, no?
P.S. I posted an honest, and overdue, review stating the above, and commenting on the figures and The Splinterwood themselves. P.P.S. I used Gmail's attachment screening on both .zip file and the individual files, and there were no flags. I think it it was the customer's program, not your files, that did it.

Probably, but I needed to do due-diligence instead of just saying "whatever". Thanks.

I downloaded it with no problems ?? no viruses or malware detected ... my guess is they got it on something else and it manifested with the unzip. still though anything we can do to sooth said person and get them smiling again? how about a free goblin mage?

I re-downloaded this zipped file now. I checked it, every single file, each folder and the zipped file itself, with McAfee Security Scan Plus abd with Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 ( updated ) and I can't find any problems.

Scanned by Panda Antivirus (Paid Version) and by Parduz Malware Scanner (beta bugged version, its accuracy depends too much on Parduz's hours of sleep ) Found no virus, malware, even javascript in the PDFs. Nothing. Tha guys don't know what's talking about.

No problem here either. We use Panda Antivirus and our home network is well setup to resist malware attacks.

OK for me too. No problems in the download, a pre-unzip scan with Avast Antivirus came back immediately green = "No problems found".
The OBS sites should also be set up to detect viruses (if the download file had been hacked while on their system, say), but there were no problems reported there either.
It seems clear the malware was lurking on this guy's system already, and piggybacked on the first file he tried to unzip afterwards.

Thanks everybody. I'm forwarding this thread and the customer review to OBS so they can take a look at things on their end.

As with 99% of these cases he probably downloaded the file shortly before he NOTICED the malware which had probably been sitting in his dodgy download collection for weeks. Same as the guy who drinks fifteen beers then has a kebab on the way home. It's always the kebab that makes you sick.
Clean file. As always.

I'm sure Mr. Wilson just had a bad moment and all the evidence he had at the time pointed to us. I know how frustrating it can be when your dealing with a particularly nasty virus or malware. I can only say there a special circle in Hell devoted to the people who write malicious and misleading software. It's just unfortunate that he chose to vent that frustration when he was typing a review. I understand though and I'm sure that when he sees that we weren't to blame he'll come back and try us out again. I hope M. Wilson hasn't left the SplinterWoods forever were not a bad bunch of people.

I aim to try harder at relaxing

I've been in the art business a long time and have been rejected by some of the best! I'm sure you have heard of Blizzard entertainment. well I used to work for other people because I got a lovely letter from them telling me I was no good. Disney said the same thing , So did Bethesda and at one point even Wizards of the coast sent me a personally signed letter saying thanks but no thanks. they all thought I was no good ... and look at me now... I'm still no good, but,! I'm still here plugging away and I will continue to do so until I can't do it anymore. So one person gives me a bad review at least he was mad about the virus and not about how cruddy the art was. that's a positive if you ask me! P)

A once-upon-a-time-friend of mine actually worked for Disney animation for a few years, and found it rather soul-sucking. He started publishing his own really fantastic comics... In fact, I've been meaning to invite him over here, since I'd love for his characters to become minis...
