they turned out fantastic! I love me some goblins!! now people can buy them and if they print of a few pages of them they will have an army of Goblin spearmen!! oh ya that will be the first thing I print off when I get my new printer ....*sigh* new printer....

Well, I almost had all of your stuff finished and ready for the blog! I'll just split them up. No self respecting elf wants to be in the same post as a weedy goblin anyway! They look great!
Hang in there on the printer, it'll happen. I just bought a new epson and figured I'd go all out and get a CISS as well. It came in the mail and was truly plug and play. I had the system up and running in less than 10 minutes. Way different than in the old days when they first started. But I am getting ahead of myself! After I do the post about the Splinterwood Elves, I'll be doing a review of the printer and CISS.
I cant recommend it enough though. My printer's cartridges hold about 10ml of ink each, whereas each color tank for my CISS is 120ml. A 4 cart refill set for the printer is $40. A 4 bottle (tank) refill set for the CISS is less than $40. So, I'm getting enough ink for roughly 12 cartridge refills of each color,(Around 480.00) for less than 40.00. Huge savings.
The ink is archive quality German ink guaranteed to meet or beat the oem ink on colorfastness, fading over time and brightness, and it definitely does look better, but more on that when I do the review!!. All I can say is that the elves and especially the dragon turned out great!
What's that you say?...Pics? well since you asked so nicely, I'll post a couple but you have to wait for the rest!! Please excuse the cruddy pics. They were taken at night with my secondary camera)
that does look really awesome!! I especially love the coffee mug base feature that you added ! I actually deploy the same technique myself thus the bamboo mug in the background of some of my shots LOL .....wait splinterwood coffee mugs!! who want's one!! it will match the T-shirts!! LOL
here's my army ... there would be more but me new printer isn't here yet.... I have to wait till August to get one.
why yes that is a Netel bat in the background... it's an Alpha build and it needs a little tweaking that's why no body has them yet. "What's that you say?...Pics? well since you asked so nicely, I'll post a couple"
Now I know what your thinking.... well actually no I really don't I'm not a mind reader and I have to stop saying that LOL it's creepy so you may be thinking what's wrong with it the bat and rider look perfect well let me tell you ! the base is to small. you can get away with having a smaller base on the dragon because the legs act as a tripod so the base doesn't have to be super big ... though I ended up making my base a lot bigger because I have a fan that blows on me pretty much all year round here in Texas ... even in the winter it's hot. I digress. the Netel bat doesn't have that leg support and since it's almost the same wing span as the dragon it needs a bigger base. also the base stem that holds it up it just to flimsy with regular card stock and needs and insert to make it stiff enough to keep it up... *insert perverted joke here* and some how the rider got really big? not sure how that happened ? the last thing is that the process to building the bat isn't strait forward unlike most of my models this one requires you to put it together in a very specific way and therefor needs some good instructions. it's not hard just specific. see now aren't you glad you asked ... you didn't ask? well if you would have asked that's what I would have said. LOL for those of you who are dying to get your hands on the Netel bats don't worry they will be in squirmydad 's hands very soon!
oh ya in case anyones intrested in what the Utharian Goblins look like ... here's a w.i.p. of ye old rank and file ! see they use rusty cast off swords and boken shild bits and womens breast plats for hats LOL so that way if your looking to run a gobo army you can combine the two Amastal and Utarian gobos and have a gobo army ! oh ya the utharian gobos actually build stuff... in the loosest sence of the word. it's stuff and it works... some times ...though if you come across a goblin war engin it's best to get away from it as it will most likly explode in some violent and nasty fashion.
cowboyleland: Now I have seen it. It doesn't advance our hobby, but anyone with half a brain who wanted 2nd rate figures could easily figure this out for themselves so I guess he isn't doing any harm.

berneart76: well, this is fun, (not) transferring all my papercrafting sets into the cloud. The stuff I got from DriveTrhruRPG was simple with their library desktop app,but my other stuff, sometimes with multiple duplicate copies is entertaining.

berneart76: Vermin King I usually use a mix of drybrush/watercolor/photocopy and occasionally posterizing at different levels of opacity.

berneart76: Vermin King, that's similar to the enhancing that I do on my texturing. I've found that sometimes I need to scale up or scale down the image (usually by 50 or 25 percent down or 200 or 300 percent up) to make get the enhancements to look "right"

Vermin King: On the zebras, I did multiple enhancements and cartoon filters and used them at 100%, and they still didn't look that different than the photos

Vermin King: When I make a figure or terrain piece based on a photo, I clean it up and align things to look 'right', then I create another layer and do enhancing and cartoonizing on it. I then adjust opacity over the photo image until it looks good. On the zebras,

Vermin King: berneart76, do you mean giving them green or purple manes and tails? and a few piercings? maybe a cig hanging out of their mouths?

Vermin King: cartoonizing a zebra doesn't do much

Vermin King: And due to the snow, I'm off tonight. I am going to miss the cash on the paycheck, but I'm glad they want their employees to be safe

ignatious: Actually I was referring to the two previous posts. I was trying to be subtle in order to sublimate the crassness. Read them again, but in Mel Brooks voice while he is winking, and nudging the person to his right.

Vermin King: Sure. Euphemize us
Feb 8, 2019 18:40:48 GMT -9
ignatious: would anyone care for a euphemism?

cowboyleland: We hadn't had snow for a few days. Last night the plow came down my street and did nothing but fill every ones driveways back in. Just for practice, I guess.

Vermin King: In KC we had an ice storm (with thunder sleet) the other night. Left things drivable, but last night the plow came down my street. They took all the rough edges off. Might as well have ran a Zamboni...
