The theme for this months HOARD is Minions & Henchmen! This can be any sort of miniature on the above theme or feel free to submit miniatures off theme. If you submit a figure, they must include both front and rear art, have a proper trimming outline, and include instructions for multi-part models. Recolors and figure mods are encouraged, and even uncolored designs are welcome. No nudity or sexuality, but bloody gory and horrifying is encouraged. If you have questions about how to design your figures, like formats, resolution, and stuff like that, see the HOARD GUIDELINES in this forum category. Entries for the Hoard will be accepted until the last day of August, 2014.

Why minions? As I was taking my preview pics of the Heroes Hoard it occurred to me that zygrott24 has created the Heroes and Villains of Big Trouble in Little China, and all that's missing is the horde of faceless goons that both sides employed in the big battles. Minions sounded better than Faceless Goons though.

I dunno. "The Faceless Goons of August" just might be my rock band name once this whole computer programming gig runs dry.

I guess I need to get out of my slump and get the Lords of Death and Chang Sing started then

No, the Lords of Death are a street gang. They are just errand boys for the Wing Kong, who wear red sashes. . . wow, I guess my fan-boy is showing

This Forum Hoard is officially Live!....Okay, it's already got an entry but I wanted to make it official. Make a Minion, or three, assemble, photograph, upload, and use your work for both a Hoard entry and a Papercuts entry.

As it is Don Gibbs birthday today (Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds), that made me think that Barbarian Pillagers like in the Capital One commercials would be good minions.

They look like they could have two hearts and four lungs as well. I'm thinking a that means a pretty awesome stamina stat.

There's also a real option for some 2.5D-ness about the new mini. And if someone felt up to the recolours (not my fortรฉ, sadly), Barsoom here we come!

Rough re-color, definitely would need a different head for Barsoom. Last of the mutant temple guardians, just need to do the backs now.

As far as Barsoom goes, I started reading the series with the release of the Michael Whelan covers in 1979. There's also lots of great Barsoom art by Frazetta and others.

I was impressed by the amount of material on Burroughs' Mars available online, from various texts through artwork to online comic book versions. Great that it continues to inspire.

Excellent Green Martian, squirmydad. Did Jim shared the parts of the berserkers? I recall something like that but I couldn't find it in the Jim's pieces files that I've gathered.

Thanks for showing us further inspirational art... Is it just me, or are the 6-armed men the only people dressed at all?

ok I'm going to loose all credibility (that's assuming I had some to start with LOL ) here and say.... I really liked the movie John Carter ...... ok ok I know , I know it was terrible but I really liked it! it was campy, stupid and porly acted but for what ever reason I saw it at the right moment when I was in the mood for something really stupid and , well just weird. I think I'm going to throw in on this one and make some of those green for armed tusked guys .... hate me if you want to but at least I can die with a clear conscience now LOL
