While hunting around for something else entirely on the 'net I discovered this game ruleset and the paper minis to go with it. Flipit Paper Combat. The last rule update was in 2012, the site's Facebook link is dead and so is the link to the site's forum so I don't think the game is supported anymore, but it does look interesting though.

Actually some of Jim Bowen's Flip-It models were among the first ones that I did when I entered the hobby. When those went together well, I did his Warthog from Halo. That was about the first model I did that I was really proud of

I know this thread is pretty old, but I just managed to gather a lot (I think 90%) of the Flipit Paper Combat game together and as I was making cutfiles for what I have, I decided to take a break and this is what I came up with: For the Black X Blue Falcons Dogs of War Green Star Red Hammers Red Maple Vipers White Lotus. Now, all the images that I used came from the game, so I won't take credit for that. I hope that Jim Bowen likes them as well.

The models are cute, but they look pretty intricate. Was the game fun enough to make it worth the effort?

The models are cute, but they look pretty intricate. Was the game fun enough to make it worth the effort? Building the infantry/hero models is quite simple. A tube, and a 2-piece head that slides over the tube. I haven't started building the terrain or the vehicles yet since I am making cutfiles for them for my silhouette SD machine. I have about 40% done on those (Green Stars, Black X, and Dogs of War). Working on Blue Falcons for now, but I did have to do a couple of model pages over to get them to fit inside the cutfile area. Before anyone asks for them, I am not going to post the cutfiles until I get an okay from Jim Bowen to do so. Sorry. I know the game is free, but it is only polite (IMHO) to ask permission to do things like this after I have them already worked out and can send them to the game creator for approval. Now the dice that I made for all of the factions that I posted earlier should be okay to grab if you want them.

flip it was actually one of the big inspirations for Temporum Oblitus and later Splinterwoods, I saw that some one made a table top wargame out of paper and the idea was planted. ultimately nothing ever came of it but it was a fun diversion to say the least. I still have a Flip it folder with all the models that I could get my hands on and some that I made myself. I really dig Flip it and it's to bad it's not a thing anymore.

i still have all the stuff especially the new ones for the 3rd edition. I think it is playable and maybe just needs some rule tweaks and clarifications. I will ask Jim if he does have any plans for it or if he dropped it.
