ha ha Goblin archers!!!! you never thought you would have to worry about goblins with fire power now did you!! well you still don't really after all I can picture a group of elves sitting by a late night camp fire and a squad of goblins lets loos a volly on them. after it's over one elf looks at the others and says my the mosquitoes are bad this evening ... oh wait no it's just goblins. well it's a good thing I brought the Splinterwoods goblin off spray. Because I like Goblins too despite being a dyed in the wool Elf player I was wondering whether a set of traditional adventurer minis, but in Goblin form might be fun. They could do service as character figures too, but somehow I'm finding the thought of dungeon crawling with a bunch of weedy Goblins really amusing this afternoon.
one of the hardest situations to negotiate in HeroQuest is the long narrow hall and a goblin with a bow at the end. surprisingly you can take a crud ton of damage if you roll badly on the d6 for movement. I've run games where the heroes foolishly try and charge down on the gobo who was two of the board lengths away... needless to say his friends abandoned him to his meaty fate! then they had to resurrect him at the apothecary after the mission hocking almost all the loot they picked up along the way. all because of a gobo, and a really bad decision. when they encountered that again in a much later mission the wizard fire-balled him to the face ... gobo by by.
what?? in a storage crate?? one of the best games of ALL TIME??? in a storage crate?? here's a shot of my desk!
still can't see it??? here how about now?
storage box .... uggh.... I'm going to have to come over and bust out my HeroQuest with all the mods and the extra towns and my double Decker game boards and now that I have the fat dragon easy dungeon set HeroQuest is going to get 3D baby!! when I get rich and famous(or at least rich anyway... ) I will dedicate an entire room in my house (and it wont be a small room) to HeroQuest!! It will be right next to Temporum Oblitus and Splinterwars... or what ever we decide to call the fantasy game!

It's from when I moved house Aaron. I was lucky enough to find a whole pile of incomplete sets and expansions for sale at a cheap price some time ago. From all the bits I was able to build up a complete set and the expansions plus a lot of spares left over. I consider myself extremely fortunate to own the game as these days it seems folk are asking collector type prices for any old tatty box load of bits,
Just roll the darn dice. Pixel pusher and proud of it.
cowboyleland: Now I have seen it. It doesn't advance our hobby, but anyone with half a brain who wanted 2nd rate figures could easily figure this out for themselves so I guess he isn't doing any harm.

berneart76: well, this is fun, (not) transferring all my papercrafting sets into the cloud. The stuff I got from DriveTrhruRPG was simple with their library desktop app,but my other stuff, sometimes with multiple duplicate copies is entertaining.

berneart76: Vermin King I usually use a mix of drybrush/watercolor/photocopy and occasionally posterizing at different levels of opacity.

berneart76: Vermin King, that's similar to the enhancing that I do on my texturing. I've found that sometimes I need to scale up or scale down the image (usually by 50 or 25 percent down or 200 or 300 percent up) to make get the enhancements to look "right"

Vermin King: On the zebras, I did multiple enhancements and cartoon filters and used them at 100%, and they still didn't look that different than the photos

Vermin King: When I make a figure or terrain piece based on a photo, I clean it up and align things to look 'right', then I create another layer and do enhancing and cartoonizing on it. I then adjust opacity over the photo image until it looks good. On the zebras,

Vermin King: berneart76, do you mean giving them green or purple manes and tails? and a few piercings? maybe a cig hanging out of their mouths?
Feb 26, 2019 12:24:18 GMT -9
Vermin King: cartoonizing a zebra doesn't do much

Vermin King: And due to the snow, I'm off tonight. I am going to miss the cash on the paycheck, but I'm glad they want their employees to be safe

ignatious: Actually I was referring to the two previous posts. I was trying to be subtle in order to sublimate the crassness. Read them again, but in Mel Brooks voice while he is winking, and nudging the person to his right.

Vermin King: Sure. Euphemize us
Feb 8, 2019 18:40:48 GMT -9
ignatious: would anyone care for a euphemism?

cowboyleland: We hadn't had snow for a few days. Last night the plow came down my street and did nothing but fill every ones driveways back in. Just for practice, I guess.

Vermin King: In KC we had an ice storm (with thunder sleet) the other night. Left things drivable, but last night the plow came down my street. They took all the rough edges off. Might as well have ran a Zamboni...
