I am working on a Robin Hood Campaign for the Song of Blade and Heroes game. I'd like to be able to distribute the campaign in a format that would mean potential players have as little work to do to get their setup and warbands ready. For example, I will add images/photos of the terrain setup so that they can understand how it is laid out at a glance. In order to make getting the miniatures a minimal fuss, and to ensure that they are still available in say 2-3 years, I was thinking of re-distributing a series of suggested models, some of which I haven't modified and others I did modify. All of these miniatures are distributed for free. So my question is: would it be OK/legal for me to redistribute paper miniatures? I also plan to acknowledge the authors, include a link to the original works and websites like www.onemonk.comAny thoughts on that?

That would require the written permission of the publishers - unless they explicitly made the mini's released to the public domain or using an appropriate Creative Commons license (which is not common in this community...) This is *doubly* true if you are planning on charging for any portion of the campaign. Here's what folks do to avoid this trouble: Sell/Distribute your original material as normal, containing a pointer to a page that links directly to all the unmodified models used. This only leaves your "modified" models, which may, or may not be distributable without permission: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_work Simple changes, like recoloring would require permission (above). So rather than mess with that, make a few original figures and add them to the main set, or get someone here to help you with a few mini designs.

Thanks. That's the kind of info I needed about how people proceed in this community. I will use links and ask permission for the modified models.

Thanks... I will... ask permission for the modified models. You're welcome and I'd like to suggest your request be something of the form: Good luck!

That depends on the license of the miniature. Each author has the liberty of using the license he sees fit. If no license is given you need permission from the author.
All the miniatures on the forum HOARD have a CC license that permits modification, and non-commercial redistribution.
