I have a bunch of card hunter models that I added backs for, I took them down I didn't want to ruffle any feathers.

Well, avoidance of feather-ruffling is usually a good thing. I guess I am unfamiliar with who Card Hunter is

ok random fantasy models number two !! here are the Forest demi gods of summer, winter and dream !! the first thing you will notice about them is they are not small. As Demi gods they are large and in-charge ! they command not only presence but space as well! this is Eldufice, Isuada and Eiolynn it would not be good to find yourself in their presance and it would be very bad to find yourself on their bad side! ok more fantasy randomness to come!

oh ya some dwarfs I didn't finish !!... I still need to add a few more Lookking at the female shield: if she holds it at about 60°, why the front of the shield is vertical? Should'nt be it placed so that it is vertical when the arm is orizontal? (yeah, i know that dwarfs are weird, but still i find it wrong )

I love the toad riding goblins! What was the problem with the bats at one book shelf? Thanks Squirmy dad! the problems with OBS is they have a hold period on anything I try and upload, I asked about it and they said it's standard until your an established publisher. then when I put together the bats for some reason at the end of the hold it will kick the file back to me and give me an error. so I wait for three weeks before it tells me it won't upload, then I have to wait another three weeks to try again. I sent an email to the trouble shooting people and never herd back so I understand I am not a priority... I decided that for something that's going to amount to about $25 spread over 4 months it's just not worth the hassle of putting all the pieces together and waiting forever for OBS. If their process was smoother and their was no down time I wouldn't be giving up on it. As it is though OBS, for me anyway is just a huge pain and they have little or no payout in the end. It's actually easier to just give the models away here. When I start back up with the Splinterwoods I will probably re-visit OBS but that all depends on how my own website (that we are currently building) does. at least I won't have any wait time on that one LOL

Should'nt be it placed so that it is vertical when the arm is orizontal? (yeah, i know that dwarfs are weird, but still i find it wrong ) actually she's holding the shield vertically the problem is her helmet, her head is actually turned at a slight angle and so from behind you will still see part of her face even though it's covered by her hair. I didn't want to deal with it so I just drew her helmet that way even though it's wrong, but the shield is at the right angle! However being the magnanimous person that I am I will refund the money you spent on her and even double it!! don't worry though she's not an accurate representation of the Parduzian Dwarves and there are more to come!

ok so the Ickthus were kind of met some lackluster feelings and if you are one of those who really don't like them then these aren't the droids your looking for move along. But for me they are defiantly a guilty pleasure. I just love them, and more than anything I want their models. I think it's going to be Awesome when can field a massive army of Ickthus against the Splinterwood elves ! now I know GW makes the skaven and some of their models are pretty sweet, especially the new ones, but most of them are just weird and gross and I don't like them. The Ickthus are not the skaven they can be used as substitutes for Skaven, I suppose, but all in all you will find they are not the same. the Ickthus are broken into two parts. the Brood and the knights. Broods are broken into 20 man units with a brood lord as seen here ... well the brood lord and two of the twenty broodlings 3 broods are called a scab and are run by a scab lord 3 scabs are called a tear and are run by a tear lord 3 tears are called a scar and the scar lord runs the Broods he is called the all father because outside of being a complete bad@$$ on the battlefield it's his job to keep the brood matrons pregnant and producing the next generation of Ickthus... here you see wip of the Scar lord with a wip of one of 20 broodlings. from the broods the largest and toughest are pulled into the ranks of the blade knights, the blade knights are given a strong dose of Ickthus Go juice and it makes them bigger and tougher and it's what fills the tanks on the back of the lords. 10 knights are a called a cut and are led by a cut master 3 cuts is a wound led by a wound master don't have him drawn yet 3 wounds are gash led by a gash master (of all things) haven't drawn him satisfactorily yet... 3 gashes are a gore and you guessed it lead by the Gore master. The Gore Master has complete control of the military and all broodlings will answer to him. Brood Matrons however ignore him as he has nothing to do with them. His primary function is keeping the other clans at bay and taking new territory, also it's his secondary function to act as a body guard for the Scar Lord and you will often find them on close to the Scar Lord on any battle field. If the Scar Lord should die then all the lesser lords get together and fight to the death unitl only one remains or until all the other challengers withdraw their challenge and loose their title as lord, this has disastrous effects as the failing lord has his go juice cut off and is returned to the ranks of the brood, where they have many enemies they don't often live long enough to make it back to lord status. sometimes the go juice goes wrong and it creates titanic slavering Ickthus called Saber toothed Ickthus, they are giants but their minds are complete mush, they eat and kill and eat some more! Sabertoothed Ickthus can be handeled by a specail unit called the deeler, using drugs he can manipulate them into a docil state or wind them up into a slathering frenzy of death! their is more Ickthus goodness to come like the beetle riders and the dragon fly knights! I love the Ickthus and I can't wait to see them printed and on the field of battle ...

how about this ... since I don't want to get the board in trouble and I would like to avoid the appearance of evil if you want the models I made backs for shoot me a pm and I will e-mail them to you privately that way I take on all liability and don't put the board in any violation. that being said if you have a favorite card hunter charicter you want to see a back for let me know and If I don't already have it done I'll wip it out. they only take about 20 minutes or so to make.

well I have made a decision that if it's not something I came up with I won't post it. I don't need any more problems than I already have. I don't know much about card hunters other than some one asked for their models and they posted tons of pics of fronts but no backs .... so I added the backs and was going to post them here... oldschoolDm made a good point and I don't need to be causing trouble ... I would have just deleted the thread but it's not in my power to do so.... in that case..... I should make good on my statement and start handing out random fantasy models!! .... lets see what I have lying around!..... I know!! Netel bats!! I never got OBS to publish these and so I will put them here as a Cardboard Warrior exclusive!! this is a good start! all original art no copying and no using other peoples stuff! so no one should have a problem with it! though I did base the musician after the tonight show's Paul Shaffer ... but it was only an influence I didn't pull any images of him on a giant bat I swear!! Out of Curiosity was there a black outline version of these guys?

you know there isn't one. they were some of my very first multi part models and all of my later work is based on them. Though I am quite proud of them I think it's time to Re-visit the SplinterWood Elves and clean up some pieces as well as make some Heros for sure!

Adding a black border around these is a pretty straight-forward process: 1) Import picture into GIMP 2) Add a white layer beneath the image 3) Use the magic wand selection tool to select the white background of the image you imported 4) Expand the selection by 1px 5) Using the Layer menu, add an alpha channel using white as the alpha color 6) Alt-click on the layer thumbnail to select all the non-alpha stuff on the image you imported 7) Expand the selection by 20px 8) On the white background layer, fill the selected region in black

I'm no authority on graphics, but I'll put my thoughts down, and someone with more gfx nerd cred can correct me if I'm lying. So, not to hijack the thread or anything... So GIMP represents colors using three values. Red/green/blue (RGB) or hue/saturation/value (HSV). When you paint, each pixel is getting a color value. Some images support more than just colored pixels, though. Some images support having transparent or semi-transparent pixels. The amount of transparency is stored on the pixel as a fourth value, "alpha". Each of these four values is stored separately, so in an app like GIMP, you can look at the "red channel" and see where there's any red color in the image, the "blue channel" etc. The "alpha channel" is essentially a representation of how transparent each pixel in the image is.
By the way, working with "channels" is a great way to manipulate colors in interesting ways, select pieces of the image, or even save away selection regions to get back to easily.
Maybe that answers what the "alpha channel" is well enough. I'll continue to ramble.
In GIMP (and photoshop) the layers you work on can be created such that they do or do not support transparent pixels. In GIMP, when a layer does NOT support transparent pixels, the layer name will appear in BOLD text. Layers that do support transparent pixels appear in normal text. Transparent areas are, in GIMP, drawn as a checkerboard pattern. That way, you can tell when you're seeing through the image.
If a layer supports transparent pixels and you erase something on that layer, you'll see through to the layer below it, or you'll see the checkerboard pattern indicating that there are no colored pixels displayed there. If a layer does not support transparent pixels, erasing something will effectively paint with the background color.
In GIMP, if your image contains transparent pixels and you export to a format (like JPG) that doesn't support transparent pixels, it will automatically create a base layer using the current background color.
So, when I'm tweaking an image that I've imported, I usually start by making sure it supports transparent pixels. I also usually create a white background layer under everything, just so I can easily see just how things will look on the page. If I have an image with a lot of white area, one easy way to remove it is to use the magic wand tool to select the white background area to remove, then just hit the delete key. This will leave behind transparent pixels. Of course, sometimes this leaves a fuzzy edge around things, so another thing you can do after making your selection is to expand the selection by a pixel or two before deleting. This works also if you're deleting a textured background rather than a solid white background. If it's a solid background, though, the best thing to do rather than just whack the delete key is Layer > Transparency > Color to Alpha... Select the solid color to remove, and it will do a great job of removing that color from all the selected pixels. It is different than hitting the delete key, and I'll let you experiment a bit rather than getting sidetracked on it, but both are useful to know.
Done rambling. If there's anything you'd like more info on, just ask. I bet with GoToMeeting any particular topic could be demonstrated quickly with some screen sharing.
